So my wife told me I owe her a vacation or bag pipes. Although I like the noise of bag pipes, I don't want to pay to listen to someone learn. So, vacation it is. Here's what I'm looking for; nice beach and water, probably all-inclusive because I'm a soak and most importantly, some sort of good fishing (any bill fish would be awesome). Thinking we have to head out after Christmas since my wife works in the school system. Aaaaand Go!

Cabo for fishing…we just got back from puerto vallarta with no complaints…did not get out fishing but heard lots of good reports while we were down there…snorkeled a few times, it was good you can go on the beach on the puerto side the bay keeps the big breakers out in most spots a little rougher on the Nuevo Vallarta side…
I do still prefer the Caribbean for pure relaxation….

Florida beach house, rent big ocean kayaks, fish inshore, offshore, fresh or salt all within 5 miles.

Bag pipes?! Really? That's what she wants? That's GOTTA be code for something else... Let's see, switch some letters around, carry the two, leg bone connected to the ankle bone.. maybe she wants a new Cadillac? Bigger house? New husband?

mrs johnr and I enjoy Cabo so much we bought a time share down there. Heading down again in 11 months.
Our fishing was better out of Puerto, but we caught a few in Cabo too. Marlin season is October in Cabo, and they catch the shit out of them.

I love the down town area of Cabo too, lots to do, lots to see, nice beach, great sights, good fishing, just lots of good stuff

I'd buy the bagpipes and promise a trip to the Broken Oar by boat when it warms up.

Costa Rica has super nice beaches and billfish. I went out with some numbskulls that apparently couldn't fish very well as we caught a couple jacks and a needle fish. Another guy I talked to the same day wandered across some guy with crappy boat on the beach that apparently knew how to fish and smashed billfish and dorado until he said he couldn't reel anymore. I wanted to go out with this guy the next day, but we had other plans.

The USVI's have great beaches, but fishing isn't much to write home about.

Belize is good fishing, but beaches aren't super nice. Snorkeling is fantastic, though.

Cabo is the same as Juarez just like Wing ND is the same as Detroit. Don't let that bordertown bullshit deter you from visiting Baja. Florida has lots of methed out murderous types too

Anything south florida gulf side or ocean and the southern keys and over to the bahamas for bill fishing.Thumbs Up

Wife and i did a cruise with several stops , Island of Roatan honduras, Belize, Costa Maya and island of cozumel, neither have a desire to go back to anywhere mexico again, Belize was mediocore Honduras was beautiful but extreme poverty opened out eyes beyond anything i had ever imagined. Our poor people live like kings in this country after seeing that place.

South Florida has it all and more for us we love that area, never been to the Bahamas but would love to hit up some of the Cayes there.

You should of told her, she could practice on your bag pipe, to see if she likes it before you buy one. ;:;rofl We just got back last night from the Hotel Catalonia Rivera Maya. It was a nice place, and I would go back. I would suggest up grade to the Privileged package as you can do more things at the resort and eat at more restaurants. Didn't fish, but you can walk to the marina to get a charter boat. Its was a fun week except for the snobby and loud French guests. Google it for more info. Rode the taxi back to the airport with some people that stayed at the Barceló Rivera Maya and they said loved that place. They were going to already line up another trip when they got home. (We were there 10 years ago and loved it also)....................................... Good luck with the bag pipe thing. ;:;boozer

milk in my nose

At least you didn't waste any beer.

Wife and I went to the Keys once and absolutely would go again. Not a lot of sand beaches in the keys. The Westin in Key Largo has one though. We rented a convertible in Miami and drove down south from there. It was lots of fun.

Yeah the keys are all about the water sports fishing and drinking not a beach goers paradise, Key West has a few small ones but they are man made most of the sand was trucked in from the main land.

I would go as far south as possible --- out of country as Florida in my opinion is always an iffy --if you want it guaranteed in the 80s keep going south. No matter where you go the holidays are always busy with people but we have managed to have a good time. I like mexico - the area down by playa or cozumel both have been good to us. Jamaica wasnt impressed with but we had a blast. Luv hondo and belizie but air is high in $$$. .

Of course you can always try spring break:
when i was a 30 something drinking like a 20 something-- I am in the pool laying on one of those chairs that they have in the water. I look over at the pool bar and about 20 blondes -- i closed my eyes and yelled to my buddy -- I think i died and went to heaven. I said the only thing i could use now is a cold beer (my glass was empty). Two blondes come walking over each with two beers in hands for us. I open my eyes and said i did die and i am in heaven. Wifes were looking at us in disgust as us to fkrs try to suck in our guts and bs with em.. Of course later them basterds kept us up all night and the spring break didnt turn out so springy and the old ladies were psissy the whole trip.

have a good vacate.
