I think NDG&F should begin reporting state of origin violator statistics.

the state record tiger muskie was 45 inches, it's not even a legal fish now, makes a lot of sense

I wonder if 45" wasn't a typo. If them were the true measurements that had to be one impressive looking fish. The girth had to be gigantic.

Ignorance is no excuse. He killed an illegal musky. Fine him.

We HAMMERED him with a $25 fine in typical ND fashion. He'll think twice about it next time! Honestly, I can see this being an honest mistake after seeing what he had laying on the table next to the 'ski. My only question is whether he got fined for the 52 perch and 8 walleye it had in it's belly...that's over-limit by my book.

Sawyer,
The reason lakes with mushky are closed to spear fishing is because of their existence. The fact that DL is open to spear fishing shows the G & F have written them off in there. Sconi or not, if he gets fined it's BS.

I had crock potted my crow with some good seasoning. Alass... it shall go to the less fortunate than me. Aint sure if i should be doing a dance or taking a lucky deep breath. The story makes it unclear. But, i suspect it wasn't close homes.

Looks more northern than musky so I would DNA test it then go of northern rules. Wonder if they gave the state record holder a ticket

As far as I'm concerned the 25 dollar fine is appropriate. The tiger musky is a failed experiment IMO. A designer fish that serves no other purpose but to add regulations to the rule book. I don't like sconi's any more than the next guy, but this was an honest mistake that doesn't deserve any more punishment. An obscure fish that most ND residents didn't even know the rules for. Unlike keeping twice the legal limit, which is on purpose and deserves the whole library thrown at'em.

I got my first ever citation this year for being more than 150 ft from my tip up. It was fun! It was $25. :;:cheers

I agree with this ^^^^. The lack of candor and honesty is concerning though. But, not surprising.

I'm guessing the $25 ticket was welcome when your spare tire carier is full of walleye fillets on the way back to 'sconson.

That's BS. Was it at Devil's?

No, it was on Dry Lake in McIntosh County. I've been checked by this Warden several times and he's always been very nice to deal with. In all fairness, I was hole hopping probably 250 yards away from my tip up....completely slipped my mind. I knew the law just honestly forget I had a tip up down LOL

Got pinched for a hundo by a federal warden for 1 perch over the limit. Couldn't argue with the guy and didn't really want too. My mistake, so I took my lumps and pressed on. He took the smallest perch and then let me keep the other 20, which he didn't have to. Math was never my strong suit so addition by ones once I run out of fingers gets tough.

Wow $100 for 1 perch over? Seems like taking a Tiger under the limit would be more expensive than a perch?

MEH!! Could have been worse. He could have taken the whole bucket full. I figure a hundo is about what I'd pay for a good fish dinner at a restaurant, so that is how I presented it to Mrs. KDM. I didn't work out like I'd hoped. Got a good verbal bashing from the boss and NOW I G.D. guarantee you that I count, recount, and count again when I'm after perch. Walleyes and Northers I can handle with the fingers on my reeling hand when I'm holding the rod in the other. (Grin)

Sounds like you need boots without laces that are easy to slip off so you can use your toes to count as well.
