I remember being in high school and if you weren't standing, you were wearing a cap, or you were talking or screwing off during the anthem you got smacked or taken out back afterwards..... so much for respect!

When I was in 9th grade we were standing on the side lines before the game while the anthem was played. A friend behind me pulled one side of my shorts down and I reached down and pulled them back up and turned and told him to knock it off. After the anthem was done I saw my dad walking down from the stands and heading over. He walked past the coach took both of us by the arm walked us over into the corner of the gym by the bleachers and simply said "Do not ever disrespect this flag, country or those who serve like that again."

He walked us back to the bench and apologized to the coach for the disruption and went back to his seat.

I will never forget that nor do I tolerate it without speaking out.

I knew i should not have clicked the view post....... i am not old as shit and have lots of friends that are not white and lots of them think the kneeling is a bunch of bullshit. No matter what you do history will not re write its self and you should also look at history as facts matter. What does an average person see -- you see another person - i live in Fargo - i see many different nationalities --they all get a nod or a hello from me.
