Two fellas we met at the boat ramp snagged this gill net at vankhook.

All info above gathered from a very trustable friend.

Sounds like there were 80-100 walleye in the net.
Caught off of lonetree in 15 feet of water.

Can the native's use nets at certain times for personal consumption? I did find this in the proclomation.

Non contract type commercial fishing with use of seines, hoop nets and set lines may be allowed by special license in certain waters at certain times.Contact the Department for licensing information and regulations.

I would make that picture and post go away real quick if it were mine. It's a hefty fine for tampering with the Native American's nets in Minnesota where I am from. Any law enforcement person that saw that would be obliged to investigate.

I have an older boat without a livewell. A friend and I were by shell creek. I was putting our 10th walleye on the stringer and that sum bitch fell in. I basically dove in but couldn't grab it. I would be interested to see if anybody ever pulled that stringer up full of 18-22" walleyes

i cried by the way.

So i just found it on TAT website. Even natives can't net game fish in ND other than channel cats. Tags must be attached to equipment at all times.

I would definitely be turning that over to a warden pronto. Simple possession of a gill net in ND is a violation.

I would've called NDGF immediately to see what the protocol is.
