Read a little bit ago that the police caught him in Brookings.Hope that is true. It's never comfortable when someone like that is on the loose. It's OK to have a loaded gun in your home in such instances but who of us actually wants to have to make that decision.

Too much Hunter Safety Instructor in me. Keep guns and ammo separate. Especially if there are children in the home. That would be my only reason, SAFETY.

Yup!

ALL guns are always loaded until you check them yourself.

I was in a gun store a few years ago in Phoenix looking at guns. The guy behind the counter handed me a rifle and did't check it before he handed it to me. I always check any gun someone hands me a gun even though they just checked it. So as I'm opening the action he says "hey it's not loaded what are you doing"? I pull the bolt all the way back and out comes a live round. I looked at him and said "how many other loaded guns are behind the counter"? There were 3 more, 1 hand gun a shotgun and another rifle.

WOW, just wow...


There was a group of anti gun people going around in AZ at that time looking at guns in gun shops and slipping live rounds in them. They were hoping for an accident and maybe dead or wounded people as a result. I don't think they ever caught anyone doing it but they did send out a notice to all the gun stores in the state.
