Oh FFS, Gabe. You really can make a mountain out a mole hill. Why don’t you pick out the parts that say I don’t agree with access being denied. Why not assume that I’m referring to the meantime, where if the person really wanted to shore fish, they could walk a few hundred yards. No, you manipulate written words so they fit your agenda, cherry picking everything you can to draw your conclusion.

There is probably some illegal off-roading going on by the folks out there in their pickups as well.

yeah pointing out the stupidity of a handful of peoples posts happens more than one would think on these sites.

Unless you think there was something else there.

How to gst a Thread 101

Step 1: come onto a thread, rekindle personal vendettas

Step 2: feign offense when vendetta behavior is pointed out - "can't believe you guys think I'm a scoundrel"

Step 3: feign that the true driving rational for your boorish behavior is sticking up for a friend or someone that is just trying to feed the world's hungry... that type of thing. In this case it was "I bitched about Stan's Dad remark for my genetically challenged buddy - you should now feel bad because you besmirched my genetically fat buddy, you genetically fat buddy hating bigot"

rinse, lather, repeat

Speaking of fenced off closing, we have that kind of thing going on in the Sheyenne Valley Grasslands because of off roaders tearing up the land. Once the grass in this very sandy soil gets toasted it don't come back. I say if someone gets caught doing this its a MANDITORY FINE and a BIG ONE. Don't leave it up to a judge to hand out a wrist slap because people will never learn unless you empty the wallet. Or take away the keys.;:;banghead

Well there it is I guess I have just gone and done it again.

My apologizes to the small little clique of people that think that "fat and lazy" people should just make different life choices to meet their approval or stay at home. (perhaps getting out and walking to shore fish IS one of those "better life choices".)...........;:;banghead

"fat and lazy" people should be made to walk even further and go thru even more obstacles to access shore fishing on Corp lands for their own good.

I don;t have a great deal of time for lazy people perhaps DM, SD and guywhohashisownlittlepersonalvendetta can start a thread to tell everyone how to identify those that are "fat AND lazy".

How to guy, SD or DM a Thread 101

Say something stupid and even when other people not gst mention in passing why it might have been stupid, instead of letting it drop, double down on defending the stupid comment you made. :D

People are PIGS. There are two AWESOME low head dams on the Sheyenne river that the public can no longer access due to trash, vandalism, and other destructive behaviors. Fence it off!! Those that have to work to get there tend to NOT abuse it as it took some personal effort which adds "Value" for people which lends itself to keeping an area clean and enjoyable. Ease of access lends itself to littering, vandalism, and general dumb fluckery.

Pertaining to the OP's general area of topic, maybe the Feds should lock up the National Grasslands between the county roads and the Corps fences giving the lake the added buffer it needs to be protected? Lets be honest the grasslands are far from pristine condition at the moment, for mainly the same reasons the fence was built in the first place. :;:stirthepot

On the south side of Sak is Expansion Bay north of Beulah. We had some kick ass parties there in the 70's. Some people littered, others would pick it up. Had a 4 wheel drive hill climb and moto-cross track. Campers galore. Shore fishermen everywhere. Bonfires, fireworks 4th of July. The Morast family rented it from the Corp for grazing and partook in the festivities. We had it made.

Then the Corp fenced it. Padlocked the gates. It's two miles down in there. Stopped in there with the boat last summer (not a soul around) and we walked around telling my kids about all the good times we had.

Today everyone is relegated to Beulah and Hazen Bay camp grounds where it costs hundreds to park.

I used to tease PG on his nodakouthouse, it's a theme........Lock it up....let's make all public land private and then fight with landowners to make all private land public.

The key here is you guys CLEANED up the mess. That doesn't happen now a days very much. I'm also Not saying to lock it up. Not saying that at all. It's still open for public use, but takes some effort due to SLOB people. I see an opportunity for a guy/resort to make a bit of cash here. If a person was to put a boat in and ferry folks to and from this fantastic family setting for a small fee, enjoyment could be had by all. Just a thought though.
