Bear Spray

I'll be hiking and camping in Montana soon and will be bringing some bear spray. Anyone in the Bismarck area have any unused bear spray they would like to sell? That stuff is expensive.

I know that. I'm going to buy it. But I'm sure there are a few people that needed it when hiking and didn't use it. So why not buy it used?

Never hurts to have both that is for sure.
Was told by an old timer many years ago, who guided hunters for many years in Alaska, if your revolver holds 6 bullets make sure you save at least one to use on yourself just in case the other 5 either failed to hit their mark or didn't stop the critter! He was dead serious too. He said, ''many people think I am joking when I say this but I'm not''.

Just buy a new one that wont expire for a while and use the purchase as an excuse to go on a fly-fishing trip several times a summer so your getting your moneys worth!

Also, the citiot from Cali had food in her tent when the bear came the first time. Then they removed the food but apparently not the scent, bear came back hungrier. If your tenting in griz country never have your tent near any food or your cook sight.

You carry your spray and I’ll carry my 44. If it comes down to me getting disemboweled by a pissed off wounded bear I’d rather put a round in my head than spray myself in the eyes with bear spray.

Just remember if you don’t get a chance to spray the bear before it attacks you make sure to hold the can of bear spray by your head so when it tries to bite your head it gets the can too. This has saved a couple hunters in WY already. Sometimes you don’t have a chance to spray before it attacks.

I will take a shotgun any day over a handgun. Give me a 12ga 870 wingmaster with 4 buck or BB then slug then 4 buck or BB then slug. I would put a extended mag on it to get 8 or 9 shots. You shoot a bear in the face with 4 buck or BB and there sniffer is gone and maybe blind. Just keep pumping and shooting.
