I fish 95% of the time on the same water year round, this drain your livewell shenanigans is a burr under my saddle.

I will not be icing down any fish. We pull off the lake up to the cleaning station 100 yards away, while I am draining my livewell on the way up, might even take a leak once up there, and who knows what I might be pissing out. We then clean the fish, I take my baitwell container to the dock, tie it up, and put it back in the boat the next day.

Been on pretty decent bites before, with up to 5 people on board. Never once been over. My boat, my responsibility to make sure we come in with no more than the limit. Doesn't happen all that often, maybe once or twice a year where I really have to pay attention.

I'm all for giving a beak for a whoops fish. This is clearly not the case. There needs to be a point, I'm not sure where it should be, that the fine becomes $1,000 per fish over and confiscation of ALL equipment involved. One or 2 sconi parties has to call wives to come pick them up because the truck and boat just got confiscated and word will spread. Problem solved

Don't take this the wrong way, I am just curious.

I was checked bird hunting one time, we as a group were one bird short. I told the game warden we needed one more bird to finish our limit. He said "no one of you has a bird to go, the rest of you can put your guns away"

No bird pile, each was responsible for their own limit.

This is one law where ND n SD differ, and I like the SD law better. There are times I take out kids, and let them real in the fish while I net them. Now its all my equipment and boat., and rods are in holders trolling cranks. Whose fish is it?

cold-cocking them with the fishwhacker and throwing them on ice puts a halt to the counting madness too

of course this eliminates the ability to sort/upgrade - an illegal but hard-to-resist (meth-like) practice

I started cutting them and place in rear livewell to bleed and into the front well with a couple-three gallon milk jugs of ice or bags. Nice clean fillets and I always seemed to have the one or 2 fish that were dead and off color, solved that and easy to count. Quick run of the pump and the rear well is rinsed and ready to go. At any rate there is no excuse for being over that many, other than not giving a rat's arse about ethics.

I let Guy and Ahab catch their limit. Then I cuss and throw a fit because I'm not old and wise about fishing. Then we go home. Doesn't sound fun, but I keep doing it

I would have responded that I was finished with my limit of pheasants, but was in pursuit of sharptail grouse now so I will keep my gun with me and continue to hunt thank you very much.

I think if you're a Sconi and want to fish or hunt here (SD, ND) you have to prove you had a vasectomy, or if you get caught over the limit we cut your nuts off. That way this shit stops with this generation.

Its one thing to come over to this state and enjoy the great fishing North Dakota has to offer. it is quite another to come over here, and blateny violate fishing regulations.

I enjoy hunting and fishing out of state, so I reallly cant say much about nonresidents. As long as they abide by the laws, I guess I have no problem with that, even though it can be a tad "overwhelming" sometimes. Poor sportsmen are poor sportsman. That means both residents and nonresidents. All a guy can do is report double dipping type activities and hope enforcement picks up at some of these lakes.

Yes, unless the hunter has the need to look and hunt for quail, partridge, grouse, etc. I'd tell the warden to mind his own bizzness :;:muahaha

Fishing is no difference than hunting. There are OTHER species you can catch/keep, too!

I guess it goes along with hunting for me as well. If I shoot 5 birds, I put the gun away and take control of the dog. If I catch my walleyes, I quit keeping them. Releasing fish is a lot easier than releasing a bird. I've despised party hunting since I was a kid. Two years in a row, I got to the end of a push and the "old timers" had a bunch of does on the ground and one of us youngsters had to tag them.
