why would the grass clippings attract mosquitos? Dont they dry out pretty fast? The soil in the garden is that sandy loam that likes to turn into cement when it drys so I thought I would lay grass clippings in between the rows to help keep the soil from drying out too much, but clippings attract mosquitoes. So is there an insecticide that I can spray between my garden rows that will kill the mosquitoes but won't harm my plants?
OIC, I guess all I use is drip irrigation so my grass or mulch or whatever usually stays fairly dry. They do but when you water the garden they absorb water in the layers, mosquitoes will even lay in your plants when its hot out.
I till in horse manure occasionally, but for chemical fertilizer Im using https://www.berryhilldrip.com/D14MZ...pular-Model-Standard-Ratio-1-500-to-1-50.htmlWhat is everyone's go to way to use fertilizer on your garden? I bought garden hose auto feeder adaptor that connects to the faucet then attach to the garden hose. Is it better to use granular or liquid fertilizer for garden?
Also has anyone heard of cross pollination from field corn ruining their garden corn?
For fertilizer, Im using Jacks Starter mixed 50/50 with urea, dissolved in hot water to make a concentrate, and then I dilute the concentrate using the dosatron when watering my garden and orchard using drip irrigation. What is everyone's go to way to use fertilizer on your garden? my custom mix of granular is 60% MAP, 30% Urea, 10% ammonium sulfate, if I had it to do over though I would add 10% K and reduce the MAP by 10%. Maybe next time.I just bring 5-gallon buckets to work (24000-ton plant) and make up my own blend, a little ammonium sulfate, potash, and phosphorus, no urea, don't ask me the analyses.
Good luck .Herd of cows and their calves came though my yard and garden last night and owner will not answer his phone this morning. LB
