I remember seeing that ad, so the motor was off center and it won't drive. Not that it matters but is that repairable. I know next to nothing about boat mechanics

I think if the 225 Honda is in good running order you can probably trade it in and get a newer 150 PITA but if you get stuck with the boat there are some options at least.

I would guess that motor alone should be worth about what you paid for the boat, or am I way off?

it's an '07 225hp Honda 4 stroke, runs perfect, compression and leakdown tests were perfect and Jeff's outboards in Bismarck said he'd give me 2k on a trade for a 150 Merc. He already had a few 225's that he couldn't get rid of, told me there isn't a market for motors that big in ND. I'm going to wait until after the court date to do anything to it. One inch offset to the right and that 600lb weight in the back makes it squat hard to the right rear, very noticeable as soon as it floats off the trailer. I know there are options but I shouldn't have to do shit with it but fill it with gas. Short of getting medieval with that loser that sold it to me there's not a lot a judge can make him do, i would really like to handle that POS by myself but I don't want to go to prison.

Dude watch out at Jeffs outboards. He sold me an used 10 hp honda and it was a 70 lb anchor. When i took it back for repairs he put it on the backburner for several months. He never did fix it. After a year he finally sent me my money back. He didnt reimburse the sales tax either. I was so fed up with him that i didnt even try to get the tax back. If I wouldnt have stayed on him he would have never gave my money back or the motor.

I've heard horror stories similiar to that, if we don't make it unbelievably painful for these asshats they'll continue to screw people over. Glad to hear you at least got rid of the anchor and got 95% of your cash back.
