anyone else see the video of the guy in china whos carrying a lithium battery, I think a bike battery and he gets in an elevator and it malfunctions and burns him alive. Not cool, its crazy how much energy can be stored in such a small space, and they are coming out with batteries it sounds like that are much more energy dense than current tech. Supposedly enough to make battery powered commercial flights more feasible.
It blows my mind how many CCA the small jumper packs have.

I know one thing, I don’t leave li batteries unattended on chargers any more. Too many bad stories. Garage fires these days are not often battery fires.

Fun fact:

It costs 30-40 cents to charge a 100ah 24V battery. Unbelievably inexpensive.

BTW, LiTime came out with a shuttle 30ah bluetooth heated battery recently (bought one for my HDI shuttle). It barely fits but it does fit.

My boy and his family had a close call , They were on a tour boat when one of those electric surf boards caught fire . Lucky they were close to shore . Those batteries scare me.

Funny how the news there is no different than anywhere , the story isn't quite the way it happened and they were sad the Captain who saved their lives was arrested . He did everything right except parked next to another boat so they had somewhere to evacuate to rather than jump in the water.

If they go as long as the claims , they probably replace $ 20 worth of gasoline between charges.

What's the jive about using lithium battery for a starting battery ? I ended up an extra one and using it for cranking but is says that's a no no . I need to find a 12 volt trolling motor for my other boat for the Grandkids to use. They must not make them anymore. It sat a few years and turns but motor won't spin.

I think the big worry is about the gas motor’s alternator effing up the lithium battery due to over-voltage (>13.6V or some such)
I have a replacement but used the lithium for driveway starting and 20 minute test run then unhooked it , I'm not taking any chances more than I've already taken. I hope those little smart chargers are safe. They have a setting for it and claims are that they are safe . ?? They work great on lead batteries and it's handy having 6 and 24 volt .

Preach it. Over the 4th I showed the kids the burn in my charging station and the battery holder.
