And the MT gov cup is begging for teams to sign up, even upped 1st place to 20k. Last I saw they only had 95 teams and need 175, up until recently it was hard to get a spot. I guess folks are tired of being "donors" as the livescope guys call them. FFS has definitely changed fishing tournaments that's for sure, either you get very very good at it or you don't have a chance in hell of winning.

There are lots of really good FFS guys around Peck that are kicking butt at most tournaments. It’s happening everywhere but certainly there. In today’s world I wouldn’t even show up to a tournament if I wasn’t really good at FFS. It’s a game of fishing for those 5 fish only. Trolling is out, any tactic where you can’t see the fish and catch it are out as a whole. Hope scoping doesn’t win tournaments lol!

With the number of tournaments struggling to fill, I’m surprised we aren’t seeing a few with FFS not allowed.

I used to enjoy the local tournaments, looked forward to taking vacation for them and fishing with friends. And if you could catch one or two kickers a day along with your 20 inchers you'd usually cash a check and might even have a chance to win! But like Traxion said now you have the ability to pick and choose the exact fish you are going to target and it better be 26" plus and you better have 5 of those a day. And those fish in the summer on the big lakes have been figured out suspended in the column. Heck many scopers don't even pay attention to the bottom at all. Funny you bring up the hope scope, I was asked if that's how I caught my fish last year ha ha ha. I have a 12" FFS setup and to tell you the truth I haven't had it in my boat the last couple years. I enjoy the unknown aspect of fishing8 still. But I'm not going to lie I couldn't go without it out on the ice! Each to their own, it's a tool that's out there for all to learn and use for tournaments so I don't blame those that have gotten proficient at it and are taking all the donors money. Just won't be donating mine any more, rather just fill the boat up with friends and family and fish for fun these days...guess I'm getting old! Ha ha ha

I think there are a couple of tournaments in MT that have no FFS divisions but interest has been sparse at best.
