Two guides on my G Loomis NRX casting rod broke off, a couple days apart. I submitted a warranty claim, but it looks like it's going to cost about $50 to ship it to them, and then I don't know that they'll actually fix it under warranty.
I'm not afraid to DIY just about anything. For those that have done it, is it all that difficult to replace a guide? Do you have a preferred source for getting decent guides?

Replacing guides is generally not all that difficult. Takes a little time and patience. Have been building rods for a number of years like several others on this site. I purchase most of my components from Mudhole (Florida) and Utmost Enterprises (Washington).

It is fairly easy. I have replaced many. I purchase my supplies from mudholefishing.com. There are a ton of youtube videos to walk you through the process.

I just had my buddy Auggie fix mine last week, he did an awesome job.
We are in Western ND, and not sure if he does this on the side, or was just helping me out.

Which guides are generally considered "the best"? Fuji? -- I don't want to put Temu brakes on my Ferrari.

I don't build as many casting rods as I do spin rods. I have used Fuji K series casting guides with good results. May want to try to match the profile / height of other guides.

I try to match the guides on the rod and try to match the wrap color as well. I prefer fuji, unless they are Recoil eyes like on my G-loomis rods.
