You missed the whole point about the "Gal" She's not Fishing !!!!! just watching Geez. I have a Daughter and 3 Granddaughter's None of them would just stand and watch for days. My daughter was a woman's All American Trapshooter 4 times MN high school champion. One of only 3 boats out of 87 in the W.O.W. Tournament out of White Earth Bay she and her 14 year old co angler came in 16th still cashed a small check. 2 of my Grand Daughters aged 4 and 8 fish another tournament out of W.E.B. came in 8th out of 43 boats had their limit in 2 hours. Both Tournaments without a Man in their Boat telling them what to do. Their is no way in Heck they would ever just sit without trying to catch a fish. Again its a slam on the NWT for not letting Co Anglers fish The Sammy comment was to say how ridiculous for her not to be fishing.

Do your daughters and granddaughters want to learn FFS from the best of the best that do it, or do they just want to hold a rod and MAYBE catch a fish? That is why she was standing up there. It was her choice.

I have females in my life who passionately love fishing. They will never learn/apply FFS and are perfectly happy holding a rod with a BB, jigging over the side or watching slip bobbers.

Any woman who is both interested enough in, and then gets good at FFS, is one in a thousand. Maybe a million.

Holy cow a 4 and 8 year old putting out their own lines had their 10 fish limit in 2 hours how in the world did they do it without FFS?? No what brain would come to that conclusion? They fish cause they like it. The whole point is, if your going to award a Co angler a prize shouldn't they at least have to attempt to fish and catch one? otherwise just draw names out of a hat like a raffle and even I would go for that

Co is a lottery and always has been. I've heard pros say on day 2 when they were out of it that they let the Co make decisions on where to go and such.

Yep, that’s pretty much how I’ve always understood it too. The co side has always had a big luck-of-the-draw element: who you get paired with, what program they’re on, whether they’re in contention, boat position, all of it.

And once a pro is out of the hunt, I can see why some would let the co have more input. At that point it can turn into more of a shared fishing day than a strict “my plan only” deal. Doesn’t mean every co has the same chance, but that’s kind of baked into the format.
