Has anyone ran a line and tank with a tank smaller than the Ol standard 20lber? I bought one of those smaller tanks that holds about 5lbs. I haven't tried it out yet but a guy I work with said it might not work because there won't be enough pressure. I said then what about the guys using the 1lb disposables. Any info is appreciated.

I have and it worked similar to the 20lb tank. I have a 5lb as well.

I started using a big buddy heater a couple years ago. I have only used a 20lb tank, line and fuel filter. I do have problems with the regulator on the buddy heater freezing up. When that happens, I switch to the other side. Then that side will freeze up. I have removed the filter and jumped back and forth trying to keep from freezing. This is when it's bitterly cold out. I called Mr. Heater and they weren't aware of anything like that. I know others that have had the same problem. Anyone else experience this? Is there a way to prevent it from happening? I have packed up and went home a couple times when it was too cold and I couldn't keep the heater going.

Occasionally pouring warm water on the regulator should prevent freeze up or bringing in to a warmer location. Obviously the colder weather freezes those things faster than not.

I ran it last night, seems pretty sweet with the ease of starting it. I run a little grill with the one pounders, and have a single burner cook top that uses the one pound bottles, plus a lantern that I pack along.
I will be like #guywithtomanytarpstraps, but instead be #johnrwith10onepoundpropanebottlespackedforadayoffishing
