Why is North Dakota the effn wind capital of the USA.
What a glorious day today, other than the 40 mph winds. Pisses me off enough that I am seriously considering moving. North Carolina is one of the least windy states, and I am about convinced I am going to be there in short order.

Greatest state ever, but the wind is just to fucking much.

Sounds even better now.
Question is, would I be a minority there? Like I am now paying taxes and all..

It's the joys of living between two different air masses and the never ending battle between them. It's the norm for a continental poler area and then add in the lack of hills or trees to break it up you end up with us being in a damn wind tunnel.

Things will be much more sectioned there and more blurry. Expect "Bernie" signs in a golf course neighborhood yo.

Could be worse, Great Falls and Livingston MT are both exponentially windier than anywhere in ND.

I was gonna say the same thing. Apparently Juan has never been to WY or the Rocky Mountain front in Montana.

I agree. I'll take a nice light breeze over the walleye chop days for fishing any day of the week.

North Carolina can have their pollen in March and April. I was wondering why I had green stuff all over my pick up.

Turns out it's pollen from those zillion pine trees they have.

MT has some windy spots but the state as a whole is a ways down the list when put up against ND, SD and NE. Great Falls gets right in the sweet spot where the wind gets pitched against the Rockies making it insanely windy at times. Same holds true for most of the passes although I don't really count them. Here's the general layout of the U.S. like was said south east WY has some crazy wind as well.

My one and only trip there didn't leave me wanting to go back, or have any desire to live there.

If the wind didn't blow crazy in ND we would have a few million living here.

So i'll take the wind.

the worst is when it messes with an easy task of some sort like:

working on truck, wind literally blows a screwdriver or a wrench off the tailgate - really?... a WRENCH? SOB.

working under anything outside - the wind blows rocks, sand, nails, small engine parts into your eyeballs - or literally blows sunglasses off your face into the gravel

tarping a boat by yourself and having to park the boat strategically in the correct direction in order not to be swept out of the boat and kilt

fishing small lakes... wait - the majority of the greatest angling days of my life have included winds in excess of 20 MPH :;:smokin
