Just did a week long Caribbean cruise and had 20-25 Knot winds everyday and then add the 18-25knots the ship was cruising into or slightly across it made for some very choppy seas while cruising and on the top deck of the ship where I spent most of my time was extremely windy. I'll take SW Florida any day.

The only time I have seen wind in AZ was during their "monsoon" season. In the winter, I don't think wind exists down there.

the worst is when it messes with an easy task of some sort like:

working on truck, wind literally blows a screwdriver or a wrench off the tailgate - really?... a WRENCH? SOB.

working under anything outside - the wind blows rocks, sand, nails, small engine parts into your eyeballs - or literally blows sunglasses off your face into the gravel

tarping a boat by yourself and having to park the boat strategically in the correct direction in order not to be swept out of the boat and kilt

fishing small lakes... wait - the majority of the greatest angling days of my life have included winds in excess of 20 MPH :;:smokin

I have my Polaris ranger parked next to the house on the west side where I park all my excess stuff. I cover it with a custom tarp, that yesterday was hanging on with a single bungee strap like a giant kit, the wind blew my hat off so quickly I didn't even see where it blow to while trying to remove the tarp in an attempt to prevent some type of damage. My ice cold Busch light was rolling down the driveway 3/4 full and blowing like and empty can. The dirt from 4 miles to the west of Menards was covering the town link light smog, the dog was standing in his kennel leaning into the wind watching me fight the tarp and chase my beer down the driveway at about a 45* angle into the wind to prevent getting blown over.

I finished my awkward outdoor wind battles, drank one more Busch and decided to start my google search for a less windy local, as my blood was boiling. If we as a state need to build a 500 foot wall on the Montana boarder to get the wind to skip over us, it would be money well spent, that is a tax I could believe in.

Dont kid yourself. the wind isn't the only thing keeping the masses away.

I had no idea you were Scottish. Now my mind can not unsee a picture of a man trying to tarp a boat in high winds strong enough to sweep a kilt from around ones waist, nakid from the waist down...................

Trump will build it and get Montana to pay for it.

John, you allowed a BEER CAN to empty and roll away instead of the tarp???? ;:;boohoo

Where'd you get educated at?

I've been saying the same thing about our constant wind. NoDak is worse than a Harley Davidson; a Harley has repairs/adjustments 4 days per week and ride the damn thing 3 days. NoDak is wind 5 days per week and only 2 days are enjoyable. I liked that map posted on the first page of this thread. I'm thinking there's lots of water in that Missouri/Arkansas border where we can fish and stuff without the disparaging winds.

I have often wondered how pissed off Harley owners must get in this state. You're either cold as heck, leaning over at 45 degrees to the cross winds, dodging t-storms/hail, riding at night in insect clouds from hell near slough country, or getting ham-smacked in the face by robin-sized grasshoppers.

Geez what a screw job for the 4 months of half-decent riding temps. I admire your pluck bikers! ;:;bowdown

Hey Juanr would you like some cheese with your wine? Maybe some cookies with your milk or some truffle salt with your eggs?

Speaking of wind.....Any of you guys up at Winnipeg see those kites with snow boards screwing around. One of the days there were about a dozen of them ripping around through all of us fishing that area North of Balsam.
Those are some crazy sob's

Yes, pepper jack please.

As a young boy growing up in that little Minneapolis area south of downtown fargo, I sure do not remember the wind being such a sonofabitch.

Now you know the reason why they want those damn wind farms here, they popping up every where now, if the effn wind gonna blow, may as well find use for it,,,right?! Don't blame ya for being pissed juanr, I wasn't a happy camper fishing from shore yesterday, but I manage to find a place to keep it at my back...got skunked anyway. wonder why the wind isn't our state icon..it ougtta be.

I used to live in Great Falls when I was in Jr high...can't remember right off hand how bad the wind was, but it had its days out there thats for sure.

I do "knot" know what your talking about how many knots is equal to mph?
