That waygu stuff looks good but damn the price is crazy. Saw some ribeye roast from cosco for Christmas that was on sale for $110 a pound with a minimum size of 11 pounds!

I will happily make you one hell of a deal and sell you some Akushi for one half that price. :)

Not quite so spendy but still too much.

That has been the killer on beef consumption here in the US. Low cattle numbers and high export demand have driven cattle prices to record highs a year ago. That has influenced consumers choices in a big way.

Prices have now dropped substantially for live cattle (down by 1/3) and for the first time in many years consumption of beef here in the US is rising as cost have started dropping a bit in the grocery store. Complete nutrition wise beef is still the best bang for your buck in the protein aisle.

gst, we spoke early last winter about your Aukushi beef. Have you butchered any yet? If not when do you plan on? I still am very interested in purchasing some!

Mossy We don'tt have any that will be ready until probably early winter. The one we are eating we swapped with a fella from down your way. I don't think they have any left but I can see and let you know.

I will look and see if we had the brisket cut or if they ground it . If we do, I would give that to ya if we could sample it up at the Crik over a beer!!! :)

Kurt r, just got to get a little vaccine cooler from the vet and should be ready.

I have no problem waiting till early winter, I just want to be on your contact list so I can purchase some cuts...

If you do have a brisket though and want to save it for the Crik, I would love to cook it up some weekend this summer up there!

http://www.snakeriverfarms.com

I have not ordered from them before but know many who have with good results. Lots order their beef and pork through them for comps...it's damn expensive

So after reading the thread I decided to get momma some waygu tenderloin for Mother's Day from snake river farms, now mind you I Havnt had waygu before, but they were phenomenal, followed the seat and oven technique, absolutely worth the extra money as compared to a shoe out to eat. Next ones are hitting the charcoal and chips

sear and oven haha
