    I work for one of the largest software companies in the world. Leveraging AI to solve various problems has become part of just about every role. I've seen it come a along way in a short time. For example, most new code is now writen entirely or mostly by AI.

    I've seen what it's capable of, and how that's grown exponentially over a short time. When paired with advances in robotics, at some point billions of humans will no longer have a purpose. Whether it decides to remove us, or we just fade away due to a Universe 25 type situation, I don't know...

    Therein lies the problem. Yes, it will unlock all kinds of amazing science stuff. However, when paired with robotics, it will also replace humans at even the most "blue collar" levels. The entirety of humanity will trend more useless and stupid until it no longer serves a purpose.
