Well guys, I've had this little buck coming in off and on for a month or so and by jehosefat I think he's only a fawn. I'd guess he only weighs about 70 lbs tops and he matches the rest of the button bucks as far a body size. I'll leave it to the peanut gallery to discuss if he is a fawn or a 1.5 year old. If he is a fawn....he grew a DANDY 3X3 rack. He's got 1 inch brows that may or may not show up on the pics. Here he is in the flesh. Whatcha Think!!!! Fawn or No??

And a pic from the bay window looking across my front yard. Just because I thought it was a cool pic. Enjoy!!

I tried to check, but he wouldn't give it up last time. Where do you think his other horn went??

Huge Texas buck with a small rack. On a seriouse note I have three little guys in my back yard most evenings all summer. One has about a 12 inch beam with one inch brow tines. Sometimes it looks like a small third beam. Not sure. Most have dropped their antlers and he thinks he is king now. All three are smaller than most does.

The cottontail population will need thining before the wife plants her flowers this spring. I have had up to six deer at time crowded around the feeder and up to nine cottontails under them at the sane time.

Lincoln, kinda...
I'm thinking the body and head makes it look like a fawn, but I've never seen a fawn with more than an inch or so of nubs for antlers. If it's a year and a half old buck, he's definitely something of a runt.

We had a runt that hung around the yard for two winters and it never grew, not sure if it was a buck or a doe but it never had antlers. It was a loner and other deer picked on it constantly, he had a lot of scars from trying to eat.

I guess it's either an awesome fawn or a runt year and a half. No middle ground. Maybe we had a Texas deer migrate up and he'll have a huge rack and weigh 120 lbs. LOL!!
