I heard a rumor yesterday that the hatchery might be on the chopping block. Sakakawea does not have a natural reproduction of walleye. This would shut this huge fishery off in a few years.

Sometimes a change up is needed to make it better.
I would guess most of the DOGE effect will trim budgets, wake people up, and most things will remain, but just be done way cheaper, and likely better.

give 25 tags when license is purchased and when the 25 tags are gone one is done for the year. That way all you pigs that get to go fishing multiple times a week can't deplete the resources for those that only fish a few times a month.

In SD, our legislature and Governor Noem loved to spout off about how our budget was sitting so good. They never complained nor mentioned the federal money propping things up. Now much of that money is dwindling and we’re looking at a much tighter budget. Point being even “conservatives” like the Botox beauty Noem will bullshit the public without really telling the truth. Politicians all around regardless of party affiliation.

One time money needs to be spent on the purpose it was intended or sent back. It should not prop up budgets or pad other funds.

100% agree. Look at the blue lights in bis..the bike lanes in all these cities..that was dept of transporatation grant money..aka the peoples money from federal grants. A true conservative would send the money back and say no thanks..not needed...get your shit together and priorities straight.
