    Sakakawea Trip Timing Help?

I did some work in the New Town area and stayed at the territorial as well. There were a handful of trucks/boats in the parking lot just about every day. They have electrical hookups outside for you to charge batteries. Plus the Scenic 23 probably has the best steak in the New Town area. There...

    New troller

+1 The terrovas are nice but I can't justify spending that much $ for one. I have a 70lb autopilot, v2 with the foot pedal on my 02 Lund pro angler 16. I had the same motor on my Yarcraft 1785 Millacs. I fish two rods 80% of the time, so for me the foot pedal always gets used. I had a co-pilot...

    Salmo Chubby Darter

I'm a big fan. They are usually my go to jigging lure. I usually use #4's or #5's. Hot Perch, Viking, and Orange Glow are the best producers for me, at least in years past.

Red River- Ice Fishing Fargo area

I also fished the 52nd street landing when i lived in fargo. Like Duckslayer said, lots of gold eyes. But i did manage a couple smaller walleyes. 3-5 feet. I got some advice for fishing the red from the infamous Backwater Eddy. He told me there is no reason to go out there more than a half...

    Snowblower Attachment for Lawn Tractor

The JD I mentioned in my post, to swap the mower for the snow blower is a 20 minute job. It is very simple. Almost takes longer to put the chains and wheel weights on. My craftsman is a pain. It probably took me 2 hours to swap out the mower for the snow blower. But again, I could be shoveling.

    Snowblower Attachment for Lawn Tractor

At my mom's house we have a 12 yr old JD 345 garden tractor, 48" mower deck. Engine is a 18HP kawasaki. tractor has hydraulic lift, hydrostatic transmision. The belt driven single stage snow blower for that machine is great. I do put wheel weights and chains on, but it's no big deal. I wouldn't...

Ice fishing help for large and smallmouth bass.

I have been pretty successful catching largemouth through the ice. I've caught them in 8 FOW down to 20 FOW, at any point in the water column. caught them on tiny jigs with wax worms jigging or a deadstick, and had really good look on #3 and #4 chubby darters. They are a blast to catch.

    Ice Auger Poll

Like Johnr and Kurt, I see myself ice fishing less and less. Especially with babies in the house. My hands don't take the cold very well anymore, and it's becoming more of a hassle dealing with portable houses and finding the fish. But i was lucky enough to buy a 2HP Eskimo with a Tecumseh...

    Rapalla Battery Fillet Knife

A lot of my friends have had the battery ones, but they all seemed to complain about them. Now most of them have electric corded knives, and used the money saved to buy a jumper pack or a power inverter for situations where no electricity is supplied. I have a berkley corded knife that stays...

    Largemouth in Cast Iron

I caught some largemouth last year through the ice and they tasted fine. I can understand a little mushy out of warm water though.

    Favorite Venison recipes

loins get coated in a cornmeal based coating, then fried. I do the same with backstraps, but this year i started cutting the back straps to the width of a slice of bacon and wrapping them up like a fillet mignon, then grilling and seasoning to taste (no marinade)
