    Range Finder Question

I would give the Sig Kilo 2000 a good look. It is a $500 unit that is on sale from SWFA for $350 right now (unfortunately they are backordered). It has the angle comp you are looking for and also "long range" capable. Range finders all work by measuring the "time lapse" from when the beam...

    European antelope

I sent mine to Wild Things Preserved in MT. I went with them for the habitat and shipping wasn't too bad if I remember right. Not much help regarding hydro dipping.

    Garage Lights

LED is the way to go imo. My garage had one 8ft T8 and a 60 watt bulb. It was as dark and dingy as Hillary Clinton. I've since replaced the previous lights with 6 4ft LED lights (link below). They are not fluorescent tubes bur are actually LED strips inside. They work great. I don't think one...

    Eye Dominance

make the switch to shoot bow, guns, etc. with the dominant eye. I'm left handed right eye dominant and shot left handed for 25+ yrs. In the past few years, I've been making the switch. I now shoot bow and rifle right handed with no problem. Still working on shotgun and pistol but this would be...

    Bow tuning

I thought bows just needed to be sighted in with field points and they're good to go. Wipe the dust off from previous year and call it good. :;: I recommend either Brandon or Al at scheels. Tuning yourself is convenient and good experience if you take the time to learn the process and don't...

    Base layers

I second the first lite base layers. Merino wool is very nice and still provides insulation when wet.

    Kitchen Countertops

When I looked at counter tops, I was told that quartz isn't made to put hot items on as the thermal shock will crack quartz but that is a non issue with granite. I also quoted with Menards and had 5 seams for the countertop versus one from an actual fabricator that specializes in countertops.

    Leica 1600-B problems

Didn't accidentally get set up for meters did it? 200 yards is about 183 meters and 1200 yards is about 1100 meters. Might be worth checking before returning it.

    Water filters for backpack hunting

correct, they can and will freeze but you can't let them freeze. It would be pretty miserable shitting your brains out when a long ways from the vehicle.

    Water filters for backpack hunting

I use the sawyer squeeze and really like it. I carry a spare 3L bladder for the dirty water to fill from a creek/stream. You have two options with the sawyer squeeze or mini. You can hook the filter up in line with the dirty water and filter as you drink through the bladder or as I prefer to...

Reporter left with PTSD after firing AR

This comment he received in his follow up article sums it up pretty good. "Hey there Cupcake!" wrote Gary Haney. "I have never subscribed to the idea of 'gender confusion,' but after reading your article on the AR-15, I'm a believer because there is no way you and I are the same gender. You...

    Firearm insurance

I "schedule" my firearms under my homeowners policy. This allows for full coverage and zero deductible regardless if your firearms are stolen from house, vehicle, etc and is in addition from the $10k loss by theft of the typical homeowners policy. Also take a look at NRA's firearm insurance...
