Heading up to Lake Winnipeg Thursday evening. For the guys that just got back, how is traveling on the ice right now? Are tracks needed or can I get by with a wheeled ranger?
He is currently doing one for me. I'm 11 months in so hopefully the wait isn't much over a year. He had some greenbacks painted when I dropped mine off and the coloring looked good. I'll get some pictures up when I get it back.

You could look into buying a floor plate for the Browning and remove the clip on it all together. Not sure if there are parts for a mod to Brownings? Could check on http://www.brownells.com/ as they usually have a good supply of firearm parts.
That seekoutside Cimarron with a nest will be my next shelter purchase unless something comes out in the meantime. The additional nest at least gives you both the floored and floorless option. Buggy weather for two, a nest seems to be easier than bivy's. I have a Golite SL5 now and the Cimarron...
I checked around on a euro for a deer couple years ago and $100 seems on par with most places for a simple non pedestal type mount. I ended up doing it myself and will now pay $100 to have someone else deal with it next time.
anybody try making this with more of a 70/30 ratio of venison to pork versus 50/50 or close to? Wonder if that would have too little fat and be really dry?
