Moose on the loose in Bis

Nice to see a moose in town. I was heading up to Ale Works to have lunch with my brother and met 5 cop cars, three parked around the new oil change business. Two animal control pickups also and they had him surrounded. Saw him peaking through the cattails in that little dry creek. They ended up...

    Deer Meat

I like the high shoulder shot for a variety of reasons. Doubt it will ever get me to 50 pounds of meat on a deer though.

    South Dakota giant poached

Can I shoot your fuckin dog? Why not? Just a descendant of a wolf and I don't believe in having pets.

    Pheasant Opener

I'll hopefully be slipping an arrow through a ND muley and tagging it with a NR tag. ;) Good luck with the pheasants!

    4th of July Salmon

We did it in Alaska in the bays when they were filled with Silver's and King's. Too much action to make downrigging worth the while. Humpback's feeding right there with us.

    Sitka fishing

Who are you fishing with? What did you think of the landing on the island?

    Pecker pants bikers.....

Go ride Bear Tooth Pass in the summer. Gets to the point you just keep your line and hope they get out of the way.

    Ice house skis

Wasn't quite sure on the length and didn't think it was that important. But go ahead and screw yourself.

    Ice house skis

I've got an Ice Castle, 16 foot, single axle I think. Took three tracked Ranger's to get it off Saturday with ski's on the house. Conditions down here suck and if you get in slush (which you can't see until you're in it) you can get in some real trouble.

The time to stock up is now.

Know one ever said I have too much ammo. Stock up when you can afford to buy it. Anyone saying I have too much hasn't walked in my shoes.

    Biggest walleye this summer

Cool story. Fish has to be pretty old. 19 inch long male 12 years ago. 16 years? Maybe more.

    Coyote tactics

watch your downwind, sit with the terrain to your advantage. This is also key. If a coyote can get downwind of you by utilizing terrain where you cannot see for even a little while, that's where he'll go. Great technique is to have a buddy downwind watching those out of sight areas. Kind of...

    Coyote tactics

You've got to approach them from a different area. Most guys call from the same area time after time.

    Underwater camera

Nothing like watching a fish hit a lure on a camera, especially a big northern. Also good way to learn how fish react; sometimes jigging scares them off, sometimes brings them in. I have a Vexilar. Downside is it's useless last and first 45 minutes or so of the day. Very good for learning and...

    Barnes TTSX bullets

Everything I load for hunting has been TTSX for quite a few years. .243, .270, 7mm-08, and 30-06 (I don't use, just bored and loaded them). Apparently I'm getting a 6.5 for Christmas so I'll work a load up for that. Wife's bull elk last year was with the 7-08; these bullets do not come apart and...

Founder of KUIU, Jason Hariston Passed Today.

Real good guy who was devoted to the industry and doing things right. If you had a question about his gear, simple email and he answered every one himself. Hard to understand suicide from the outside looking in.
