    Coyote scaring does away?

Whitetail does typically start grouping up for the winter right after chasing slows from the rut. If deer don't winter where you are you likely aren't going to see does until spring when they start dispersing for fawning. If they winter there and all you're seeing is bucks, you're just not quite...

I'm in Mobridge, wish it was the holidays and I was in Dickinson. Can you have a buddy talk to a rancher? Everyone's got horses out there.

    Any drone flyers ?

I've got a Mavic Pro. Nice little machine. Takes good photos, easy to fly really. Can fly it out of sight and bring back with gps. I've tried cheap helicopters and drones. They are easy to wreck and hard to fly. They don't do well in any wind. I've put them in trees. I don't think flying the...

    Boycott Patagonia?

The reason there's sportsman's groups on both sides of the issue is because most hunters think they should be able to drive wherever they think they need to go. Make these areas roadless and there won't be any issue.

    Savage ML can be dangerous

This was a black powder type firearm, supposedly made to handle smokeless powder. Bad idea and many people made that point before it was on the market. Likely just not having the bullet seated fully would increase the pressure tremendously. Wonder what the outcome might be?

    The Great Escape

Think you're misunderstanding my point. He can do whatever he wishes with his property. My point was it appeared game and fish made that decision. Maybe, maybe not. Can't tell from the article. My point has nothing to do with what season is on, just private property rules. If the owner let the...

Talk me into a deer rifle

Cool buck. I was gonna suggest the Kimber. I bought a Hunter in .270 as it was the last choice on the rack before I left for Idaho. It has become my deer rifle. About a pound and a half lighter than my older .270 and my 7-08. That makes a huge difference if you're putting on miles. I'm going...

    The Great Escape

Nah it never occurred to me... If you read the article I believe someone mentioned a tag. Anyways, my point was solely on the private property issue. And when you start factoring in this guys livelihood is raising deer for antlers it kind of changes things as far as being considered a jackwad.

    The Great Escape

I just got back. Ran up north of Fryburg quick, cut the park fence and teased a buff out with a bucket of oats. Shot him between the eyes. Guess park service is ok with it.

    The Great Escape

The impression from the article is that game and fish gave permission to keep. Maybe that's just my impression. At any rate, they're private property with a known owner. I really could care less; the article just strikes me as odd. Is there a season on buffalo (bison) in ND?

    The Great Escape

Not understanding why they get to keep them. They're obviously private property with known owners. Maybe the owner didn't want them back but I would assume those racks have some value. Would be pretty exciting until you found out they are pets; then major let down. Would I get to shoot a cow in...

    Issues with tsx

Must of hit something just right. TSX pretty much stay together as well as anything. I've never recovered a TSX or TTSX that didn't look to be fully intact. Just a guess obviously but must have grabbed just the right amount of bone with just the edge of the bullet.

    Gear

You asked about the Bog Pod; I have one. I have the quick detach so I can interchange camera, spotter, and then have the head on for rifle tripod use. It is solid. I use it for most of my hunting. Don't use it in the mountains because it is heavy and I feel I can get my pack down for a rest or...

    Field dressing a deer

If you can, shoot them with spots on, makes it much easier. Couple tips: If you can, leave the quarters whole, you'll have less waste in the end. Don't use ice unless you have to. If you do, put the meat elevated with cooler drains open so the meat doesn't sit in the water. Leaving the hide on...
