    Bow Talk

I think it was a combo of both single pin and the hand held that improved my scores. With regard to the hand held, I think it gives me better form and shot control. With the wrist release I was so focused on timing of pulling the trigger and floating the pin, I think I got jumpy at times...

    Bow Talk

What do you guys all use for a release and sight? I personally switched to an adjustable single pin and a hand held release and will never go back to multiple pins and a wrist strap. I love the sight picture of a single pin. So much less clutter. I gained a lot of accuracy with the switch...

    Bow Talk

Don't forget that your bow also becomes more efficient with a heavier arrow.

    Bow Talk

I have two set ups. Both are elite impulse 31. I have one set at 71lbs and a 27" draw shooting a 496 grain, yes 496 grain gold tip chaos. The other is 63lbs, 27" draw shooting a 410grain maxima red. Neither bow shoots over 300fps, but that 496 grain arrow doesn't get stopped by bone either...

    Deer tag system changes

How about instead of the out of state hunters being given an automatic 1%, they are the last to be served. The way the current system is set, Non Resident hunters are the first to be given a tag, then gratis then resident applicants. Shouldn't gratis and resident hunters come before non resident?

    Deer tag system changes

;:;popcorn I do agree with the "more severe penalties" for poachers logic.

    Out of State OTC tags

This is a fact. I remember a story around 20 years ago, give or take a bit, where a hunter got shot while in a tree stand. Had a white handkerchief hanging out his back pocket and some hunter thought it was a deer in a tree. I don't know if that story is true, but wouldn't shock me if it was.

    Knife Sharpening

I still do the stone and strop method. Although, when I'm done I can shave my arm hair off. I agree with SDMF, once you have it sharped, but a few strokes on the strop is all you need to maintain the edge. Lots of good videos on you tube to show you how to do it.

    2017 Deer Lottery

My prediction for me this year. 0 points for a rifle tag and only 1 point for a muzzy - looks like I will be fall fishing and bow hunting. No anticipation needed for this guy.

    Trolling Speed vs. Depth

I think speeds can vary at any depth to trigger strikes. As long as your baits are staying in the strike zone, depending on if you are fishing for suspended fish or bottom fish then you should be good. Sometimes fish want it fast and sometimes slower. I would just experiment with different...

    2017 Deer Lottery

Just curious, as I don't know how the gratis process works, but is it up to the land owner to prove they own the land but submitting documentation, or do they just say they own X amount of land at such and such location and it's up to the G&F to do the research to verify?

    Camofire

What the others have said. Use it more than I should. Have picked up some great stuff for much cheaper than anywhere else.

    2017 Governors Cup

Yeah, you always have boats all over. Only so much water to fish and 252 boats.

    2017 Governors Cup

They extended the boundary this year. In the past you could only go as far west as the west point of Douglas. Nice to have a few more miles to fish. Although in years past, I think majority of the boats could be found in Steinke, Douglas, and Garrison Bay. Just praying the forecast for...

    2017 Governors Cup

Who is all fishing this year? My partner and I will be up Thursday pre-fishing. I assume if V is in the event, we are all fishing for 2nd place.

    Sparkle boat

The Yamaha is a great engine. Very easy to take of. Have had them on my old boat and current boat and never had an issue.

    Best archery target?

The rhineharts are nice, but arrow removal can be tough sometimes.

    It's not food it's violence

The bad part, an activist like that is just hoping you become violent with them. The minute you punch them, and I do agree they need their skull thumped, they would be on the phone with the cops and pressing charges for assault. People that like really just need to pull their lip over their...
