    ID help

Mink or fisher would eat the porcupine, rabbit, squirrel, mice, and every other form of vermin you can think of. Hunting ruffs in MN I once bumped a fisher off of a fairly fresh deer carcass. The fisher didn't kill the deer, I suspect wolves had, but the fisher was going to town on what was left.

    ID help

I guess Mink. Fishers look nearly as big as a fox in the wild. Seeing a Fisher is a bit like seeing a wolf. When you see a wolf, you don't have to wonder if it's a wolf or a coyote. When you see a Fisher, you'll not mistake it or have to wonder if it's a Mink.

    Dressing A Turkey

Fillet the breasts and thighs off the bone and file 13 the rest. No reason to be in the body cavity for me as I don’t eat any of the organs. A slim blade, 3-5” long, ideally with a bit of a trailing point. Sharp, very sharp.

    I HATE coyotes!!!!

After the Nov snows plugged a couple of roads there was a 4-section area where coyotes just stayed out in the middle, give or take a mile from any roads. You could watch them, eventually they might wander over a hill, but not ever any closer to one road or the other. 12-14 different coyotes...

    Elk Hunters do you know?

    Small engine oil changes

Boat motors come out the side of the mid-section shooting oil way out to start with and make a mess as they slow to a dribble down the side and lower-unit. My push mower's drain is under the deck, no good way to drain it without making a mess. Snow-blower shoots out the side and again dribbles...

    Small engine oil changes

I don't disagree that if one has access to a compressor that's absolutely the way to go. Major point being, either are easy and CLEAN enough that a person will actually do the oil changes. I typically do my snowblower and lawnmower @ the same time in <15min either spring or fall. Then I...

    Small engine oil changes

There isn’t hardly a small engine made that doesn’t make an unnecessary mess when trying to drain it. Lawn mowers, lawn tractors, generators, 4-stroke boat motors of all sizes, snowblower, 4-stroke auger, ATV/UTV, golf cart, etc, etc, etc. Almost none of them drain clearly/cleanly. The drain...

    Open water. Are you ready?

Sam's usually runs a sale on deep cycles and AGM's during most national holidays. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a sale this week or next with Easter here this weekend. Ive bought batteries for boats on both Mother's Day and Father's Day weeks with a discount in the past as well.

    Another winter storm

Turn it backwards, step inside the handle, use copious bungee straps and you could sled a deer out of somewhere......

    Miles Of Death

Along those lines, it'd certainly be warranted for NDG&F to spend some $$$ and time flying all of ND and doing deer population counts (not just Mule Deer counts) since pretty much the entire state is snow-covered. Yes, the whitetails are hoarded up and will distribute far and wide from their...

    Sump pumps/pits, discharge hoses, etc.

New spare pump @ the ready. 12V backup plumbed in-line w/main 120V pump. New deep-cycle battery to power the backup. I've got plenty of sump-hose new in the package. Worst case scenario, the most valuable piece of flood mitigation equipment I have is a manual slice-valve for the sewer line...

    Miles Of Death

I drove up 85 from Spearfish to Belfield today. Didn't see a single pronghorn once I crossed the border. I'd estimate I saw 60-75 in SD today. I saw 3 being chased by a pair of coyotes today. I was griping about not having either a rifle or at least a spotter and phoneskope. GRRRR!
