    Was out yesterday and walleyes were doing the old staring contest. Put the camera down and they would come and look at the bait but rarely hit it. Tried different size lures, dead sticks, whole minnow, half minnow, didn't seem to make much difference. Other ideas?

    Saying about 5" of snow fell in Bismarck this morning, with some areas closer to a foot. Was like shoveling wet concrete this afternoon after it had settled a bit. Sounds like another solid round of moisture is on its way for the weekend - possibly up to an inch of water in it.

    It was definitely April or later but no worries. I've used River City for minor things like water pumps, carb jobs, lower unit seals and haven't had any issues. Definitely not cheap but don't think any of them are.

    Russ has always been highly recommended; I haven't had much boat work done in a few years but back when I tried I had a really hard time getting ahold of him.

    I have no dog in this fight but it seems like communities rarely regret building these types of things. Can't argue with trying to get the most bang for the buck though.

    Personally I am not a fan of arming the teachers, and I'm a teacher. We have many responsibilities in the classroom and I don't think armed security should be one of them although I think I could handle it.     Only problem I see with the monitored entrance idea is that many schools, especially high schools, have many entrance points. Yeah, there might only be one that's unlocked during the day but it wouldn't be hard for them to prop a door open.

    I'm with most that college athletes should be paid with a scholarship. However, that is probably a fairy tale ideal at this point for the largest 40-50 schools. It's hard to argue that the athletes shouldn't be paid when the coaches and administrators are making millions. Not sure how to fix...

    Kind of figured this would turn into a filibuster by the google/cut & paste master. Yes, we get it. You can find lots of examples of people getting upset with the government. So I guess conservation programs should cease to exist.
