SB 2315 - Ag Committee Recap

Nick, you did a good job. Maybe a little forceful. Everyone got a kick out of you being a lawyer and former prosecutor. Mark Mazahari did a great job. Great speaker. But you guys should have brought some REAL sportsmen. 1. Dick Monson...sponsor of the fair chase ballot measure 2008 and 2010...

    SB 2315 -Everything's Posted Bill

What about a program where it is the responsibility of the landowner to "opt in" if they want their land posted? Of course everyone would opt in against trespass (because that is what this is about) so there would have to be another check box for hunting.

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

Thank you db-2. Great post. You are probably the only on this site who has ever attended a public school lands bidding. Why don't you go to a school land auction PG and bid? It's the ND Land Trust. Go to a rental bidding. Maybe the State Agency can explain it to you. But they cannot understand...

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

db-2, you have read it many times on web-forums, posted by agitators, that ranchers pay little to nothing to lease school land. Here is a true story. Albert had the lease for decades. The fence belonged to him and there was no water on it. He solved that problem by piping/pumping water under...

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

Do it. Just keep in mind all your sweat equity and improvements do not belong to you. And you cannot post it. Your efforts would be much better served if you purchased some land and did that exact same thing.

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

This thread isn't about liquidating public lands. It's more about how well/wise our fore fathers invested our money at the ND Land Trust and today we have a very nice nest egg. Gains realized from the $4.3 Billion are the gift that keeps on giving. But some of you guys want to debate public...

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

Scrotcaster, It would appear that our people many years ago wisely invested the money from land sales. And then they wisely decided in 1970 to NOT sell any more retaining 700,000 acres. I can't know if ND didn't sell a problem piece of ground or not since 1970 but it can be said that North...

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

Most of us want our 401k or banked investments to accrue or have increasing amounts of money over time. And then there are those who deficit spend. They have wants and needs. They view the $4.3 Billion as abundance. They will always vote largesse onto themselves. Once the money or the income...

Bill to use Common Schools Trust Fund for property tax relief

In the early years of Statehood trust lands were sold to generate money to build schools. Later trust lands were sold and the money was deposited in a permanent trust fund that was "invested" and then the money was distributed. Around 1970 the Land Trust had 700,000 acres and decided to not...

    Karma who dat

The ref that threw the flag was standing directly behind Tom Brady and assumed Brady was slapped in the face by a hand. Maybe the ref got a little trigger happy but something has to be done to protect quarterbacks. Imagine a 350 tank of muscle riding yourself into the dirt? How many of us...

    SB 2315 -Everything's Posted Bill

ND Game and Fish (director Terry Steinwand) and ND Tourism (director Sara Otte-Coleman) are agencies set up by the people to perform a function for the people. They should be neutral. The people make the laws and employ State employees to carry out these duties. During hearings, legislators can...

2019 ND Legislature and ND Sportsmens Etree

Mark, I believe language in the Bill says $300 of that $500 dollar fee would go towards a private lands open to sportsmen's program. It's tough trying to sell opportunity in a democratic way.
