    Milestone kills thistle and not the grass. Thus it really helps if you have major thistle growth. I too like fall seeding. Hit the area with roundup in the middle of September. When the weeds are dead till if you need to. Then drag it to level it off. Depending on the soil that may be good...

    Use stainless steel screws. A sawsall is a necessity as its fairly likely that the old screws are not going to come out easily. I've done it before, get ready to cuss.

    During the 2011 flood my yard was full of baby gars that got stuck in puddles as the water receded. Probably way more gar in the river than a person thinks.

    Orange peppers rock. One of the hardest things to grow in ND. But I plant at least six every year. Never get many or give them away. They are my reward for all the hard work.

    Pretty sure I was fishing the river last March. The new spring forecast looks nice but this is North Dakota. Maybe it will be "nicer".
