    Believe it or not, elk used to roam the plains like the buffalo. Best I've been told (NDSU) they were Eastern Elk which were extirpated by late 1800's. I actually found a shed from one in Fargo on the Red....one of my prized possessions!

    Thanks for all the input guys. Even had one member call me to talk through his experience with it - this is the NDA I love! It seems like Roof Melt (shingle-safe salt) and Mother Nature are my first go at it. If that doesn't work fast enough I'll try the heated cord to see if it'll speed...
