    Sakakawea NWT

You guys ever have a day of fishing scheduled, you watch the weather/wind forecast for the days leading up to your day on the water. You get up early that morning, calm-clear sky, hook up the boat and head for the water. On your way, you notice trees/grass being blown a little more than...

Well my boat has built in AC now....

Ordered one this morning...better safe than sorry!

    What would you recommend?

Spot on John...this just got me thinking about gas alone running to the lake and back. Last year I made 50 trips, nearly 100 miles per trip...so 5K miles. My F150 gets 14 mpg when pulling the boat...so 357 gallons of gas...at $2.25 per gallon...and I spent $800 on fuel for the truck last year on...

    Target Pre-Spawn Walleye - Where?

Temps gonna be in the 70's the next 4 days...saw water temps last weekend anywhere from 49-53 on Audubon. So when are we thinking the spawn will wrap up and the walleye will get back to being interested in eating???

    Target Pre-Spawn Walleye - Where?

Yep...think the lakes from Sak north are much cooler. Sak/Garrison Bay surface temps were 39-43 last Saturday. I'm gonna hit Audubon on Saturday...hopefully they have come up a bit.

    Target Pre-Spawn Walleye - Where?

Agree Twitch...every body of water is different so you gotta study those contour maps and look for spots with potential. Gonna go out Saturday and Sunday this weekend...see if we can find 'em!

    Target Pre-Spawn Walleye - Where?

So this time of year when the lakes have opened up, but the walleye spawn has not occurred, where do you target fish? I know as the water temps on any given body of water get closer to that magic number for the females, they will begin to stage, but what are you looking for structure and depth...

What will you do different this season?

Become more comfortable pulling cranks. Rarely used them last summer...went straight from jigging live bait/plastics right into pulling spinners. Would like to use cranks more in that "transition" time.

    spawning??

Was on Sak yesterday afternoon...Garrison Bay area-water temps between 39 - 43. Be surprised if they have spawned yet - looking at the crappy temps forecast for this week, temps are not gonna climb much.

Dont buy Lund boats or from Vallely Marine

Understand Allen...so with that being said, anytime you need another body on your boat to river fish...hit me up...I might learn something!

Dont buy Lund boats or from Vallely Marine

As an inexperienced boater (3 Years), I have already learned from reading posts on NDA along with talking to the guys in my fishing circle...fishing the river takes experience and knowledge...and sobriety probably doesn't hurt-I would never consider taking my boat out on the river unless I had...

    Early Season Boat Concerns

Sig...how old is your trailer? Mine was brand new last year, don't think the bearings are a concern yet but should check the grease in the hubs I guess.

    Early Season Boat Concerns

Seems like it's already a month later than when I got out last year! Hoping for 60 on Saturday...winds less than 20!

    Early Season Boat Concerns

Planning to take out the boat Saturday for the first time this year. Do you guys have a list of "what to watch for" the first few times out when you start a new boating season? Will start the big motor and check all electronics along with the trolling motor before I leave the house. Thanks gents...
