I know we still have weeks of good ice fishing, but wondered what, if any, storage prep must be done for a gas auger? First season for me with the gas auger...just looking for some insight...thanks gents!
I've got a 2014 F-150 with the 5.0...truck has been bullet proof. Gas mileage 16 in town 19 highway when not towing. Drops to about 14 pulling the boat...but my boat/trailer combined are less than 3000 pds. The back seat is huge...when seats folded up kinda like having SUV storage. The 5.5 ft...
I've got a 16 foot Tracker deep V walk thru...mostly fish Sakakawea and Audubon...occasionally Darling. I'm in Minot, so hit me up...you are welcome to go out with me anytime!
Gator...buddy and I fished Sak/Douglas Creek area Friday...solid 30 inches where we were at-ramp we went off had some water collecting on top but no issues at all...drove out in half ton trucks...no concerns. Looks like highs in the 20's lows in the teens for the next week...lot's of ice fishing...
No I hear ya. My boat didnt come with a bow mount so I had to eat that bullet. I tried to run with just the transom mount and found my boat control skills laughable at best.
DM...that made me laugh out loud!!!
Believe me DM...it pained me to say it...and hurts to even think about it! Spoiled last spring...boat in the water the last week of March...pipe dream this year my friend. So I am buying back up blades for both augers!
Hoping for a slow thaw this spring for sure...we don't need a spring where temps stay in the 20's late into March then all of a sudden we hit 65 degrees for 2 weeks!
Best of luck to you Duck...I think you have adopted an excellent attitude. This is an opportunity and it sounds like you are going to take advantage. Teachers are needed everywhere...I don't believe they have ever gotten the respect or appreciation they deserve. Good on ya Sir!
We maybe in that mid-winter lull? Maybe the warmer weather/stable pressure will help the bite? Although if this warm weather sticks around, we'll be thinking about open water!
So sorry to hear, completely agree that our pets truly are part of our family. Next to losing a child, spouse, parent, or close friend...losing a dearly loved pet is heartbreaking. Thinking about/praying for you and yours.
