Lake Erie and all its fury, from a professional photographer's view

I always felt a little bit nervous everytime out on Erie. If you ever want to see sheer chaos at a ramp, go out to a ramp on a summer saturday when storms are rolling in and 300 boats are in line trying to get off the lake before it hits. Awesome pics, maybe he was on Pt. Pelee, it has a history.

    Curse of Oak Island

Would be nice if they would figure something out but then there goes the show. I find the idea of something there plausible, but remote. Much of the stuff they are doing now should have been done last year. I wouldn't mind having the cabbage it must be costing them to entertain me. - - -...

Anybody follow this one? As usual could do without the idiot narrator but overall, I find the show pretty entertaining and interesting.

Diocese's posting of nun's trophy deer draws backlash

There is an article in this month's Outdoor Life about the importance of wild game and fish as a food source, pretty good read and it is a solid argument to promote the sport. There will always be whack jobs, every year when I lived in Athens, Ohio there was always a group of PhD nut jobs...

American Sniper widow Taya Kyle outshoots NRA champion

Offhand with yer pants on the ground, straining to old back the deuce you were trying to drop next to some guy's groundblind. Takes alot of skill to overcome the shakes from keeping the prairie dog from crowning and drop that buck. In short, trying to squeeze one off without squeezing one off...

    ice fishing face protection

That first one makes ya look like a Quarren, would get ya into a Star Wars convention I think. (I had to look it up, haha) If there are no budget constraints, an ice castle should do the trick. Otherwise I still find the knit ones useful.

    New FNG

A farmer back in Ohio that gave me permission to hunt in his land told me about a time he was deer hunting in a remote part of West Virginia back in the 60s. He had to answer the call of nature on opening morning so as he was croutched down doing his business, 2 women just out for a stroll came...

    Fuzzy Wuzzy was a?????????????????????

Too bad we live town, I would take the whole litter. Amish in Ohio raise these and other heritage breeds and get a pretty penny for them, the meat from these pigs blows the stuff at the store out of the water. Would be fun to see the look on the guy's face at the slaughter house as they come in.

Several mornings of bran can be quite dangerous as well.

Took a lamb leg for a spin...

If you see a pair of size 14 thick blue hunting weight socks that are light and really soft stuck to the ice on a lake somewhere that was me. Haha. Probably a sign that the fishing there sucks as I have a knack for picking the wrong lake.

Took a lamb leg for a spin...

Yeah no doubt, amazing animals. We raised them, sold lots of yarn from our animals and a lot of hats, gloves, scarves and sweaters; we have a king size blanket that is awesome. I've considered calling our sock guy in Kentucky and ordering a few dozen pairs and do a show up here. Basically a...

Did some "Thinkin' Drinkin'" and I've concluded........

Somethings I learnt in college: crunch berries on soft serve is tasty and lots of water, an asprin or 2 before bed really helps the next morning not be so rough.

Took a lamb leg for a spin...

No, I haven't but I imagine it would be pretty good, only have seen it on TV. The alapca I have tried was raised in the U.S. and it reminded me of venison and had to be cooked like it too.

    Hot n spicy pickled eggs

So I followed the recipe in the link below, I did not use the cloves or cinnamon stick, added onion, garlic and red bells and increased the habanero and jalapeno count. I thought the recipe did not have habs n japs and I added them, but that was a pickled fish recipe I did...
