    When are you planning on going? This spring when the water comes up a bit and starts to flood small areas, just be ready. You don't have to go far, within a couple hundred yards of the Lewis and Clark bridge would be fine. Last spring I saw hundreds of them (and gar) that would flock to these...

    I'll never understand the "trophy" poacher. Can you really look at a mount that poached and tell your buddies some made up story of what a great hunter you are, with any real pride? I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

    I know they've had this problem before, specifically bighorn sheep in MT. Poacher finds a big bighorn he likes, shoots it, marks the spot and comes back the next year or later to claim his "trophy".

    Fresh bear sausage is wonderful. I went last year, and my vacation time for this year is spoken for, or I would be all over this.

    I spend too much time agonizing over archery stuff to start worrying about shotgun patterning. In golf, I would be a "grip it and rip it" guy for shotgunning.
