Anyone use navionics app ice fishing?

I like it for ice fishing, but when it's not in use I make sure to close the app down completely. It will use the GPS even when in the background, and that's what will really suck on the battery.

If you saw in person how they behave--how they figure-8 or follow your trolling motor prop, you would not make that comparison. For the most part, if I'm musky fishing and am catching pike, I'm probably in the wrong spot.

Wow, that would be awesome to say the least! Out of all the years I've been musky fishing I've never even caught 2 in one outing.

If I ever catch a state record musky there is no doubt it's getting thumped on the head. There is a state record musky caught every fall and released, however. It would be super hard to make the call in the boat with all the commotion, especially considering most have never kept a musky and...

In most of the MN lakes with muskies there are also cisco (or tullibee, I don't even know the difference), which spawn super shallow when the water temps start getting into the 30's. The muskies absolutely gorge themselves on these fish as they are super high in oil content, and they fatten up...

There are 5 different weight formulas for use in estimating muskies based off length and girth. 60 pounds was the high out of all of them, but regardless, it would have been a MN state record if they would have kept it (currently 54 pounds 0 ounces). Crazy how that thing hangs off the sides of...

Like I said...young and dumb. It could have even been 14-15 years ago. Today with the resources and know-how we have, that house would have made it off. Like Captain said, it was an awesome excuse to get a different house with wheels. The pictures still don't do it justice. It was out in the...

Yeah, too bad they didn't make GoPro's back then....it would have been a sight. The beds were fold down from the wall, and they had 2x4 edges all around them, so it held all the gas real nice. I remember we had a few trucks around us watching what we were going to do.......I wonder what they...

We were behind a snowbank about 40 feet away when we shot the bottle rockets in, and the fireball that came flying out the door knocked us both backwards......I swear I thought it was going to reach us, but right before it did it shot straight up in the air. We were a little younger and a little...

House was unrecoverable and needed to be off immediately. We stripped everything, poured 5 gallons of gas in each bed frame, and shot a bottle rocket through the door.

    Ice auger oil mixture

Thats good stuff too because it's so stable, they say the shelf life is a couple years, although it never lasts that long anyway. Good for stuff like a garden tiller you use once or twice a year.

I also run Opti 2 in all my two strokes and have for years. I do mix a bit richer, but use the same gas from engines calling for 24:1 to 50:1.

    Ice Conditions

True, but there is no such thing as 100% safe ice. In fact, I would venture to guess that most drownings actually occur when people go in at pressure ridges, which could be the middle of winter where the ice is quite thick in general.
