    Oroville Dam - California

That might be true but I have to believe the people of the state won't except anything short of it being paved after this mess. Not necessarily talking paving to the bottom but at least paving a pad up top so it can't get washed out so easy. Just wonder if for the short term they couldn't lay...

Well this is going to get interesting

That would be Michael Jacksons "daughter"! - - - Updated - - - This looks like fun! Definitely brings a smile to my face.

    Oroville Dam - California

Can you imagine how loud that spillway is!

    Oroville Dam - California

Yeah it was estimated at $200,000,000 before the latest problem that will all but guarantee they will have to pave the emergency spillway or just be smart build one giant ass Spillway that serves both purposes. Its all going to come down to how this next storm plays out and if it's cold enough...

    Oroville Dam - California

Boy you can definitely spot the area that became the problem spot in that video. Would love to see that footage after they doubled the flow down the main spillway.

    Heat wave

If this holds true spring fishing will be picking up.

    Heat wave

Out of the pot and into the frying pan! With the temps they are talking how long till the shore ice and ice around trees and brush start to go to hell.

    Oroville Dam - California

I still can't believe that they build dams like oahe with spillways made of dirt. Hell Harmon the newest dam in the state has a dirt spillway. You run water down a dirt spillway here and it's not a question of if it will fail but how long till it fails all to save a buck on a calculated risk.

    Oroville Dam - California

There are no answer know to a question that's never been asked before. This is literally the epitome of a doubles edge sword because they have to clear as much room as possible before the big storm but to do that they need to run the spillway causing even more damage and if they don't they will...

    Oroville Dam - California

Looks like they might be able to get out in front of it. Only have a couple inches going over now and the erosion is progressing slower then first thought.

    Oroville Dam - California

And yet still and no one is fucking covering it other then the weather channel and they sound like blithering idiots because they have no idea what you're talking about and keep saying stupid shit like calling it an earthen dam and using gallons when they are talking cubic feet!

    Now this is good news

Definitely nice to see the snow go from what we had a month ago to what we have now! Add in a warm ten day forecast and the wildlife should have a much better shot then it was looking like they were going to have.

    Legislation I can support

Well take a class in a space that was supposed to be a supply closet or a stairwell and then tell me how lavish they have it. Hell if we are going to have anything that the term lavish applies to I would say schools would be top on my list as places where that's not a bad thing.

    Oroville Dam - California

Tell you one thing if I lived below that thing I would be packing up. With the spillway coming apart and the lake full they have little chance to get ahead of a forecast that looks like this. And this is in inches of water not snow! The lake has crested for now but it's pucker time for the...

    Thin ice

Getting to be a bit of standing water on the ice and some of the small creeks are starting to buckle. Definitely going to have to be on gaurd as underwater rock plies start heating the ice above and make a nice little mine field.

    Oroville Dam - California

Haha well I guess they can call it whatever they want now but it is what it is and they were putting down rock and mortar yesterday because it wasnt near as ready to run as it should have been. Hell even the parking lot is now over flowing! - - - Updated - - - Would have loved to been...

    Oroville Dam - California

They dropped to 55,000 yesterday on the main spillway due to it putting the power lines in danger. This area we area watching is the emergency spillway. It's 1.3 feet over the top now and is getting close to cresting since it only gained .06 of a foot in the last hour. Definitely be interesting...

    Oroville Dam - California

Anyone see any video of it latley? She's now around 15 inches over the top but all the shots I've seen are from noon at best.

    Oroville Dam - California

Hell there was more coverage nationally when the spillway at Lamour a few years ago when their spillway started to fail then there is on this monster. She's a foot over the top at this point so she should be moving some serious dirt now.
