I know i switched from using 15 lb titanium leaders to 30 lbers so that i could cast better into the wind with the added weight of the heavier leader.
Get 30 lb leadcore on a reel that will hold 7 colors. Run titanium for the leader. The slower you troll the deeper lead will go. Faster trolling will bow the line out and pull the lures up. Lead is super easy to run. You can also run bait rigs on leadcore too.
Fishing reports are great to have but can become counterproductive if relied on too heavily. In the winter i see this especially where people are chasing bites instead of drilling.
nice setups other than the nanofil. There is no advantage at all whatsover in the universe on an ice fishing setup to use nanocrap. Unless you like to snap off big fish.
On sunday at noon i grabbed some waters and the ice was gone but still nice and cold. After a 5 hour drive the water was still cold and my beer was ready to still be drank when i got home. And yes i had a 6 pack of stella in there.
Dustyg33 and i put 20 lbs of ice in his 65 quart pelican last wednesday night. That ice lasted until sunday morning and the water stayed cold too. What a cooler!
