Spot on. I caught a 20 lb gar in Oklahoma that never did get hooked - just held on until I got it to shore. Once there, it opened it's mouth and let go of the bait - quick hands grabbed the fish and weighed/released. Really cool fish!
Tore out the old carpet in an 80's 16' Lund....looking at some modifications before the new carpet goes back in. Father-in-law wants to carpet floor and up the sides as well to the gunnels. Thoughts on why not to do this? I'm not keen on it.
