    After checking out scheels smelt I went straight to Dan's and picked up both small and jumbo. Scheels stuff is over priced and freezer burned bad. Hell the big bag at Dan's has way more in it and are far fresher then the other shops. Through in a pack of last year's herring for reference on size...

    That the weird thing i had a couple packs of herring last year and tried them in a spot where we were picking up 5 to 8 pound pike on every cast with smelt and for whatever reason they wouldn't touch it! These smelt are so huge i may as well pick up a couple packs of them and see what happens...

    Crappie are the one I hear the most of out there. Over all at least for the guys in know in bismarck is if they are going to drive 70 miles to a lake that there are far better options that are closer.

    went up to 6 I think. Overall all levels of preference points included the average success rate for drawing a tag was 1.9% in 2C! In contrast 4B was 14% and 4C was 12%! Mind you 2E wins the prize we a zero percent of success in drawing a tag.
