    Black and white world

I had never fished this area before so kind of winged it. Think I was a touch off where I needed to be since I had a big push of fish for about 45 minutes as they pushed off the shallows into the deep but then nothing. They were pretty lock jawed so only got one hooked but lost at hole and one...

Birds eye view of Tobacco Gardens

So having never fished there is there only one depth that works there? Looks like they are all lined up on a certain depth and noone looks to vary from it?

    Black and white world

Went down for a couple hours on oahe this morning. Fog rolled in and as I was heading out took this shot. Took the shot more so to freak out some southern guys i know but with the fog it turned out pretty cool. The pic is in color it was just so dreary it doesn't look like it.

    underwater camera drone

Man you could sure F*** with some ice pirates with that thing. Drive it in a big loop and catch all their lines at once and then drive it back by the cable snapping all their lines. Then you get the joy of watching them sitting there talking about the big one that got away!

    Holes or humps

That is the way I would approach it as well.

Jiffy Pro 4 propane auger, do you like yours?

Not sure how this years model is doing but jiffys propain auger had huge problems last year and many people had multiple augers fail in one season of use. I have the Eskimo and its in its second season and the only time I may have a problem is when the tank gets low when cold so it taks s more...

    Choosing structure

What are you after perch or eyes? I would go for a flat in that ten to 15 foot bracket and for eyes I would start fairly shallow and move deep after an hour or so after sunrise. Over all I went B thinking midday eyes if that particular hole is the deep spot of that lake or atleast the deep spot...

I mark 'em, but they won't bite

Have had allot of perch that you can get to chase it up for a couple feet but once up to the bait they immediately disappear of the vex. For those I've had good luck dropping the bait back down to about six inches off the bottom and do a little hula with the bait for a second or two then go full...

    Little had pond

Little hart that should say Has anyone ever fished it? They have been stocking it with a few trout now for a few years and just curious if the fish survive in there year to year. Has to be one goofy bottom on the gravel pit so could make it interesting to see on the vex.

    Another run on ammo?

They didn't know they were falling on their swords they thought they were untouchable as incumbents in ND. Thus why Heidi has to be incredibly carfule what she does because she and all the other dems in the state now know full well we won't hesitate to give them the boot if they don't tow the line.

    OAHE Ice Conditions

Was straight across from you and it was between 10 and 12 on the flat south of the island and around 6 west of the island. Like your the ice was crystal clear and was the best ice I've been on this year. Have to cross 40 yards of pack ice though which is a bit of a bitch.

What do you do with your fish?

Never done it but thought about punching three holes that over lap but don't go all the way through then punch a forth hole beside them and floor the auger to flood the other three creating a live well of sorts.

    Another run on ammo?

Shouldn't be since he is supposedly only working on the background checks this time. If the dems get the white house and both side of the aisle on the hill we may have some trouble. With executive action there is only so much he can do until he needs Congress to sign off on it and right now...

    Missouri flooding

They can't they have the river to low already and they are mandated to keep municipal water intakes in the water. In most down stream floods they back them down to 10,000 to 15,000 cfs but since they are already there there's not allot they can do. They may hold back the upcoming ramp up of oahe...

    Missouri flooding

Doubt it. They run them super slow to begin with during the winter so the reduction would be small. They may slow Sak right now anyway since the river froze up yesterday in Bismarck and she is doing the standard few feet rise as a result. Over all until a couple days from now oahe is only...

    Down Imaging VS Side Imaging

Anyone ever try using one of these ice fishing? Not talking to replace the vex more so when you get to a spot drop it down and see if there is a rock pile or trees or what not near by. Seems like it could be a great tool when fishing new water or water you don't fish in summer.

    Trout through the ice?

Often just a good old bobber split shot and a chunk of worm will win out. Trout at times can get touchy about how much a bait is moving and will only go for a dead stick.

Craziest Thing I've Seen In a While (char through ice)

I've often thought about trying this when you get a good shallow perch bite in clear water. Would be fun watching them through a skylite like this and would undoubtedly show some people how truly close the fish are and why being loud all the time is not a good thing.

    Thin ice!

Fished a lake that had generally had 10 to 12 by yesterday but once you got to the west side where it had stayed open longer the ice dropped below 6 inches and water would gush out of the holes when you drilled them.
