Newest craze . Snorting condoms .

fixed. When I was in 7th grade science, our teacher had a little container with liquid mercury, and would let us hold it, etc. Pretty neat. Really oddly heavy, is how I remember it. Fast forward 35 years and I'm surprised people don't die from reading the word "mercury".

    Rod or reel??

There it is again, the ultimate name for a crankbait. "Shameless Plug".

    Rod or reel??

Casting, the rod. I use my rod/reel/waders a lot, and I could pull my line back in hand-over-hand if I needed to. The rod is what catches me the fish. When I took the jump from a $40 rod to a "good" rod, I couldn't believe the difference. Granted, it's a headache when a reel wears out. And...

    Garage Finishing Ideas

I'm pretty sure the reason drywall is commonly used, is that it's cheap, and light colored. OSB is great, but no cheaper than drywall, and if you don't paint it, your garage will be as dark as it is now. OSB is tougher than drywall, for sure. But since your kids aren't likely to be shooting...

What will you focus on this open water season?

I would love to catch one, just to look at it. When I was a kid, my dad bought me a "Guide to the Worlds Fishes" book, which was illustrated. No photos, just illustrations. I remember just staring at the wahoo, thinking "man, that has to be the coolest looking fish in the world".

What will you focus on this open water season?

Eyes can also be caught on mepps spinners, when pitching. And they cast well, even in the wind. Much better than a crankbait.

What will you focus on this open water season?

Oh, but it can be so fun... Fish that come out of 5 ft of water sure make me smile.

    How smart are fish ?

The question is: How smart are fish? When I was a kid, I was up in Canada with my dad and a bunch of grown up. One morning I walked down to the dock, while I was waiting for everyone to get over their headaches. I found one of those old pull-tab type things that used to be on the top of an...

Things you never say to your wife

Way back when, back in history, my then-girlfriend, now-wife and I were out on a walk one summer evening. I don't like going for walks, just to go for a walk. I don't mind walking, but not for no reason. Anyhow, it actually WAS a nice night, and good weather etc. Was dusk, and I told her...

    Finding open water

Was in Eureka, SD yesterday, and on the way back followed 1804. Saw pretty much no open water south of Bismarck. Couple little areas (full of geese) here and there. Soon though...

    Worst Day On the Water?

that does sound like a pretty good pucker-factor. Just so you know though, you can still go forward without a prop nut. Just don't, for the love of God, put it in reverse. - - - Updated - - - My now-wife and I were going to overnight on a sandbar in the Missouri River, with a bunch of...

When do you start kids fishing?

Ahh, I only ask, because there's a great pike pond in south Bismarck every spring. Fun for little squirts. Taking all three of my girls there this spring. Can't wait for my 2 yr old to see her first northern.

Fishing while someone without a license is with

Yup, something maybe doesn't add up. If I take my 11 yr old and 9 yr old daughters fishing, I'd expect to be able to help them. I wouldn't fish more than one pole per person, but that's just me and my style of fishing. This makes me wonder if he had his kids, and a pile of other neighborhood...
