250 LBS of Week - Not Guilty

What I'd rather do, is give the legislators the same type and amount of pain, suffering, loss of appetite, etc that just the cancer patients are going through just so they could have an inkling of the consequences of their inaction. But I can't do that. Public servants of any stripe deciding...

250 LBS of Week - Not Guilty

I am a second person who is VEHEMENTLY anti-MJ and yet will likely vote for legalization because I too believe the legislature gave the voters the finger on medical MJ (which I'm actually fine with). When legislators refuse to implement the will of the voters then I believe they need a good...

I agree cool looking little bird. Looks like a ruffed grouse crossed with a sparrow. What is it?

    Leaky Propane Tanks

That's what they were using, the left-handed inside threads. I think my next stop with them will be FerrelGas or some such.

Minnesota state rep video. Wait till the end!!!

He doesn't "sound" Minnesotan. He sounds like he's from Connecticut or some such.

    Leaky Propane Tanks

I would agree, except I watched that same operator fill 4 other tanks with 0 issues. I've also been told several times over the last 3-4yrs that they weren't supposed to be filling them because they were outdated, so, getting new tanks didn't bother me. The question is, what to do with the old...

    Leaky Propane Tanks

I'm assuming it's the valve, they tightened up the filling nozzle, hit the switch and had gas spurting out past the threads. I don't turn them off weekly. I turn them off @ end of season. I'll shut down and winterize next Fri/Sat. The re-cert might be a good idea then just use them for the...

    Leaky Propane Tanks

Both of the 30# propane tanks from my camper were unable to be filled last weekend. So, I bought 2 new 30's. Question is, what to do with the old empty tanks that leak? Let's just assume I won't be the guy hauling them to the rifle range, or anywhere else to shoot them. They either are of...

    Favorite late season hunting pant

DWR doesn't really leak because it's not "water-proof". DWR will bead a little drizzle, dew, or flurry but if you're out in the wet long enough the DWR garment will eventually allow moisture to soak in and you're going to be wet without something truly "waterproof" DWR can be regenerated LOTS...

    Case cleaning- reloading

Only all the time growing up. Now that I tumble post-sizing and use media that doesn't catch in the flash-hole I no longer tumble loaded cases.

    Favorite late season hunting pant

Hikers/Mountain climbers left hunters in the dust about 2 decades ago regarding advancements in clothing and base layers to keep you dry, warm/cool (as required), and comfortable. For the "I kill just as much in my jeans/carharts" crowd, you probably do, but, the guy wearing Sitka Timberline's...

    I want a pool of 100 state-wide whitetail buck tags created. $200 NON-REFUNDABLE to apply for the 100 state-wide tags. While we're at it, 10 state-wide mule-deer buck tags @ $500 NON-REFUNDABLE to apply.

    Case cleaning- reloading

The only thing I've found to make the find corn-cob blast media stick is sizing wax. The "gloopy" blue Dillon stuff you can add to corn cob media only clumps up for a short time. Probably need an extra 30-40min on the 1st tumbling session when you add it. After that, 10-15min gets the sizing...

    Favorite late season hunting pant

I have yet to find a "technical fabric" pant made for hunting or hiking that's quieter or more comfortable than Whipcords, and over such a wide temp range to-boot. Being wool, they also can be worn multiple days without soaking up stink from the wearer. If there is a downside, it's that they...

    Case cleaning- reloading

I couldn't tell you, I don't measure necks, nor do I turn them. With new brass I FF, set the die for a crush-fit, trim, chamfer/debur then run them until the necks crack or the pockets don't hold primers.

50 degrees and below a reasonable budget-minded choice is Cabela's Microtex, any warmer than that and they're too warm for me if I'm moving at all. Mountain Hardware Piero pants were/are fantastic, alas, they've been discontinued. Hard finish, little bit of stretch, and DWR. They only came in...

    Case cleaning- reloading

Uff-Da. I size the case with a bushing just enough to hold a bullet and crush-fit into the chamber. The crush-fit centers the case in the chamber as well as mating the case-head to the bolt-face mechanically controlling headspace. ES/SD are consistenter when there's not much brass to move. I...
