    Caffine and lots of carbs (like grandma's homemade Carmel rolls) makes for a very unpleasant crash about 2hrs later. Caffine with a little fat like some half and half, maybe a couple eggs w/bacon or sausage and I don't get the big crash.

    You'll get a dryer ride with the windshield pushed forward, but the further back the helm is located, the smother the ride will be. The outboard motor is essentially the fulcrum, the boat is the lever. The closer you are to the fulcrum, the smoother your ride will be as the lever is shorter.

    That makes the decision lots easier. Non-insulated boots and several sets of foot-bed chem-heaters. If you're going to have some sort of heat-source in your tent, see if you can rig up something to get the boots over the heat @ night.

    Last 2 trips from Spearfish to Belfield up 85 have shown me exactly 0 pheasants. Yesterday I had a wolf in the median ~30' away about 20Mi N of Duluth. Today I saw 2 small fox and a ruffed grouse along the S side of Mille Lacs. Might have to buy a MN license this year.

    I like buying parts there because usually they have what I want in-stock and I don't have to know the part number, just tell them what I need and they get me the right thing. Other than that, they've done a couple of oil changes for me and that's been done properly as well.
