Have been seeing young clutch's of pheasants from golf ball size up to hen pheasant size. Deer fawns look like they are doing well. They got a lot of 9' corn to hide in.

Have seen literally no pheasants this spring and summer so far. Even the roosters never showed up in most of their usual crowing spots this spring. Haven't seen this few birds for many many years. Will be hitting the back county roads for 2-3 months in SW ND in a couple of weeks so I will get a better picture of numbers then but it doesn't look good at all. Will be in the rougher parts of Morton, Grant, Sioux and Hettinger counties and some areas of Dunn county so should get a handle on grouse numbers then. Have been seeing lots and lots of does and fawns and even a couple of young bucks lately so that looks very promising.

Have seen a couple of small herds of antelope too with several does with twins.

Going muddin' has produced young critter sightings from deer, mink, raccoons, foxes, beaver, ducks, geese, pheasants, and all manner of little things. Life was busy this year.

I drive a lot down around Hettinger and in years past have always had to play dodge the pheasant and this year I’m lucky to see one bird, hen or rooster, on the trip.

Last 2 trips from Spearfish to Belfield up 85 have shown me exactly 0 pheasants.

Yesterday I had a wolf in the median ~30' away about 20Mi N of Duluth. Today I saw 2 small fox and a ruffed grouse along the S side of Mille Lacs. Might have to buy a MN license this year.

I hit a $200 pheasant in Oliver County this year. New headlamps are fun.

Took out a rooster with the windshield on 94 over by Tappen a couple months ago. Surprising price difference if running it thru Ins. or paying out of your pocket. What a rip off.

Headlamp was completely destroy. It could have been worse. OEM headlamp through Cedric Theel was about twice the price of aftermarket.

Haven't seen a ton of pheasants lately but also wouldn't expect to see much now unless it's a foggy morning. That said the ones I have seen along with the turkeys have had good sized broods. Seen far more fawns and the goat population is definitely up as well so all in all definitely not a bad start to the year still a long ways to go for us to get back to where we were though.
