    2018 skeeter WX2090

Based on 1k gal/hr pump running for 15min+, I had 250+ gal of water in my boat overnight when the auto-bilge float switch failed and we got a big rain. The boat was tied up in a slip. That was a complete non-issue, but, that wasn't enough water to fill any more than just the bilge. The only...

    Transducer cable?

Rough, dirty, scraped, and scarred hands, are manly hands. Surgeons and mimes are the only men who should have smooth soft hands.

    Transducer cable?

You're likely to find that the old cable is zip-tied to or wrapped around shifter/steering cables and/or the other electrical wires for the starter, and other switches.

    Yamaha V-Max

An OX66 would assuredly give me the warm and fuzzies. As for what to look for, pull the hood and look @ electrical connectors for cracking and corrosion. Look at the hoses to see if they're in good shape or cracked and worn. Look for any leaks at the seams of the heads, intake, exhaust, fuel...

    Transducer cable?

Cut the 'ducer off the old unit. Zip-tie the head-unit end of the new cord to the 'ducer end of the old cord. Pull the new cord up to the helm by pulling the old one through.

    Yamaha V-Max

Former co-worker has an '03 200HPDI that he bought new, had some sort of relay issue with the 1st summer and it's been trouble-free ever since. It's a bit louder than a 4-stroke @ idle but they're about the same from 3K-6K rpm which is mid-range cruising to WOT. On humid mornings and evenings...

Anyone regret going from aluminum hull to glass hull?

Try to get yourself a ride in both the AlumaCraft you're considering and any of the 18.5' class glass boats. Stratos, Nitro, Yar-Craft, Ranger, Skeeter, Warrior, Tuffy, or Triton.

Anyone regret going from aluminum hull to glass hull?

Towing, launching/loading, and storage all become a significantly bigger challenge. As does boat control. Plenty of 22'-28' Sport-Craft boats on LOW as well, but, those are either trolling (usually w/downriggers), drifting, or anchored. If one fishes Devils, you're not getting a big center...

Anyone regret going from aluminum hull to glass hull?

My 186 Yar-Craft is far smoother and drier @ 35MPH in a pretty good chop than my C-Liner was @ 18-19MPH just barely holding plane. Trying to run the C-liner any faster was simply a linear increase in the beating you'd take. No such thing as "getting on top of them" in my previous 1850 FishHawk.

Anyone regret going from aluminum hull to glass hull?

Not even a little bit. I went from an 18.5' 95.5" wide 1850 Crestliner FishHawk/150 Suzi 4-stroke to an 18.5' long 99" wide Yar Craft 186 TFX/200 & 9.9 Yamaha 4-strokes. The Yar-Craft will run 7-8MPH faster getting the same fuel mileage vs. what the Crestliner would. The Yar-Craft is an...

Dear Lord, Thank you for the Gizzard Shad accident into Oahe. Amen.

    Ranger 620VS

last boat I tied it into the NMEA backbone on my Lowrance graphs. Current boat has it tied into the Yamaha gauges. pretty simple install. Cut the fuel line, stick the straw in, tighten 2 hose clamps, tie it into whatever system you have availablele.

    Ranger 620VS

2nd boat now w/fuel flow meter. Fuel gauges can piss right off. Reset the flow meter during re-fuel and one can confidently run to within 10% of empty without worry. Previous boat, the needle didn't ever go above 3/4 full. Current boat the digital blocks will stay on full when I know it's...

    Ranger 620VS

A few things I think are very attractive regarding owning/fishing a Ranger 619/620/621: 1. How low they sit in the water when not on plane. There’s very little boat catching wind this making boat control exponentially easier. 2. Re-sale, I don’t thibk anything retains value like a Ranger...

    Hunts that haunt you

2011, North Slope Brooks Range. I'd filled both of my Caribou tags days earlier. I'd been awakened at some point in the middle of the "night" (just got kinda dim, not really night) by wolves howling. Morning comes with some dense fog, we're brewing a little coffee, glance up and through the...

The years in which my lawn looks the best I fertilize w/Weed and feed granular in mid-late Apr, again around Memorial Day, then spot-spray the few stragglers w/2-gal hand sprayer throughout the summer.

    Independence PBJ Ribs

Interesting twist, good on you for giving it a go. I once knew a family that would add PB to their BLT sandwiches and that was good as well.

    Flying with frozen meat?

My 2 Caribou spent 5 and 6 days sitting in the shade @ ~50 all day/night and then ~2-days riding home in my backpack as carry-on @ room temp. It was still wonderful on the grill when we got home. 6hrs sans refrigeration isn't going to hurt anything.

Bassmasters on oahe in SD this weekend.

If someone regularly fishes Oahe tournaments I bet it would’ve been time week spent to be a co-angler with one of the bassmasters fishermen. Someone with a great deal of experience breaking down new water with what we’re sure to be non-traditional Walleye tactics would show a person a lot I bet.
