Snow Pack and Lake Sakakawea Levels

See that's the problem crappies are a slow growing fish and they don't get big enough to survive the first winter in oahe. We get huge spawns every year but then loose to lions share under the ice. Back in 2009 there was a huge amount of invertebrates produced which allowed that's years crop to...

Snow Pack and Lake Sakakawea Levels

Yeah that's what I was thinking and if we could get both to do well we would unquestionably over the hump and well on our way back to the good times. The north end due to the warm water bait fish is definitely ahead of the south end but this could be the year we look back on as the year she...

Snow Pack and Lake Sakakawea Levels

Just thinking Kurt it just occurred to me it hasn't been all that windy as of late and the temps have been fairly stable. Is it to much to hope the smelt may have had a decent spawn. Any word on if they have run and if so when?

Snow Pack and Lake Sakakawea Levels

We are lucking out big time with the flooding down south. Definitely keeping releases down especially on oahe which is basically turned off right now. just pumped that it's going to be enough of a rise on oahe to flood most of the head waters marsh around hazilton which is extremely important...

    alberta fires

That area is not part off the bettle kill so they didn't play a roll. As for California's oak trees they would be far easier to fight just like our cottonwood are. Conifers sap is highly flammable thus why they candle out so well which is when the whole tree goes up in seconds shooting flames...

    alberta fires

Much of it well be over for the town soon and there isn't much out east of there. Canada tends to let allot of these bushfires burn since they have so much ground and not enough people to cover it. Can't imagine how crazy it must be up there for all of them. Be waiting to see some liberal blam...

Last year's deer tag break down

For someone who doesn't hunt out of state you sure know allot about them. For instance the massive EHD die offs in MT and IA a couple years ago that killed off huge areas. Herd numbers especially in western states get smashed just like ours it's not just a ND thing. Other states would...

Last year's deer tag break down

But they don'the and I'm glad for it. Allot of it comes down to the fact that most DNR departments being funded by tag sales and one nonres tag brings in the same as ten res. Not saying it's right but they need to be funded someway. We are one of if not they most restrictive states when it comes...

    Broken G-Loomis

With all this custom talk do any of you make your own? Always seemed interesting and a good way to get exactly what you want once you get dialed in.

Last year's deer tag break down

Well good thing other states don't follow that line of thinking because suddenly there would be no chance to ever get a sheep tag or a tag for any good area for elk or just about anything else for us. One percent is crazy low compared to pretty much everywhere else. I know we aren't everywhere...

Last year's deer tag break down

http://gf.nd.gov/licenses/license-availability/deer - - - Updated - - - Could very well be true but know back in college my buddy always took his out of his wallet because he had trouble with it before and he was a full time multiple year ND resident at that point. The thing is by having a...

Last year's deer tag break down

Back when I was guiding I too could have applied for the outfitter tegs. The key word here is applied because even during the good deer years getting tags in units like 2K2 was not easy. The nonres get a crack at 1% of the tegs and outfitters get a % of that. If there are multiple outfitters...

    Site speed?

Just turned my WiFi off and it took 19 seconds to open this thread. Turned back on and it was less the a second. Must be some weird android setting the clashes with something on here. Very weird.

Last year's deer tag break down

Does anyone have the unit by unit breakdown of deer tags from last year. Seems odd how they are random numbers this year like 792 and what not.

    Broken G-Loomis

I didn't say they were tools. I was simply combing two good products that are both unquestionably overpriced into one awesome pair. The guy whos a good fishermen with his $75 rod and a old beat up Low will out fish the guy who buys all the most expensive gear trying to look like he's a good...
