    cow decoy for goose hunting.

Now when I say that I'm talking during a decoy hunt. The thing is that they seem like they could be handy look for whan flocks land long of the spread. Think it would have to help to get behind it and either sneek up on the birds or better yet use it to cercle around the group and try to slow...

    Sage Grouse - Sharp-tailed Grouse - Sage-Sharp-tailed Grouse Hybrid - NDGNF

Wonder if the game and fish would give you crap for taking it. Had enough warndens that couldn't tell a red head vs a canavas back so I could see this getting interesting. Either way coo bird.....should name it Caitlin for how confused he must feel!

    where to dove hunt?

Well last year was one of the hardest years to find good dove fields but this year its by far the best numbers I have ever seen. Well goose scouting I'm routinely finding a doz or more good to great fields just about everywhere I go. Anyone else running into the same thing elsewhere? Hell many...

That's the problem with the two 40 birds fields is they have almost zero shot at any other birds coming by. If there was a real shot at birds criss crossing the field that would make a big difference.

Anyone been out scouting lately? Did a bit of a half ass run starting about 40 north of 94 and zig zaged my way south. Found a fair few groups but they all fell into one of two groups. Group one would be a good sized flock but invariably they would be far too close to the roost to have any real...

What in the hell are you rambling on about. as I stated already but apparently you guys suck at caching semantics through an internet forum without a bunch of smiley faces to show you which way to go. Good lord I was agreeing with you that that's a possible answer....especially for that group...

Fnznfwl that because there not the same birds. Sure some of our locals stay here but most go down to around KC. The birds on the river are mainly EPP birds from Sask and MB. As for my folks yard that's not scouting that's thousands of hours being around geese and seeing how the react with...

Well first off the lake I'm talking about is 5 acres so not exactly huge in the field I'm speaking of is only hundred yards south of it stretching for a half mile. Anything is posable and in the end often times probable. But in the case of our lake I never saw the birds change because of...

Well don't know how far I will buy in on that one having grown up on a lake that acted as a roost pond for a few thousand geese. It was vary common to be sitting back there fishing with geese heading out to feed and a couple minutes later hear shots and what was left of the flock would return...

Without question they heard us but the nearest roost birds were still a mile and a half away with some coming from as far out as three miles. Both us and the other group we knew in the next field were happy the other was there because it showed it wasn't us screwing up but instead the birds...

First wave slammed in for us and the two of us dropped five. After that all the birds headed of the roost in an all new direction and the ones that did come back to where they had been few by like they were snows coming off a refuge! Didn't even slow a wing beat or give a second glance. don't...

so is this what Florida hunters think about?

Here we sit on the eve of a new hunting season and instead of worrying about what field or what decoys or even how many decoys to use I'm trying to figure out if I have anything I can wear for this kind of weather! I've never had the shorts and sandals vs slip on debate before going goose...

Some may shoot a limit but that will the exception is my guess. 15 birds is allot of birds especially for groups with more then two shooters. Love to see and even more so do it but odds say hope for 5 to 8 per gun and be happy for any. Wonder how many gallons of blood will be lost by all the...

Bird flights were crazy fast this morning. Went form no birds in any of the fields I've been watching to all birds out and feeding in literally 2 minutes. Six different groups all doing the same thing. My guess is they didn't feed long last night so were starving by morning. Fields with three or...
