You have to remember that most sloughs are shallow, and the water heats up quicker on those. Most lakes have deeper water and therefore don't loose ice as fast (water stays colder). Snow has a lot of effect on ice also, heavy snow will weigh down thinner ice and push water up through the ice...
My question to this would be, do you have to stop on the ramp and pull the plugs and wait for it to drain, or can you pull up the ramp and into the parking lot and then pull the plugs there and wait for it to drain? :;:huh Would you get finded if you did this in the parking lot?
